@64bithero I’m not just blaming Microsoft solely at all. That was rather my point. None of them are our friends. They are all culpable.

It’s just these current closures are cutting deeper artistically for many and they are an Xbox decision. They are today’s villain. Yesterday it was Sony.

The job losses have been horrendous for months now.

Diabolical planning and an unquenchable thirst to show ‘growth’ are to blame but yet the numbers are still healthy in every other respect.

@64bithero I remain a fan of GamePass as a consumer but it’s already clear the money for regular big day 1 deals have dried up and there’s little to no data to support what impact it’s having elsewhere in the food chain.

I’ve always had uneasy feelings about what subs models might do for the industry, admittedly based on how quickly the subs models for tv and film industry have led to cancellations.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I’m starting to fear a stultifying gaming future with a homogenous, risk averse output that ends up making a cup and ball look exciting and innovative by comparison.

Anyone out there defending corporations at this point is a shareholder with ashtrays instead of hearts!

Nothing will ever be as bizarre to me as gaming platform fanboyism. Actually the popularity of Crocs is almost as bizarre to me come to think about it.

Rabid online partisan support of one gaming platform over another and the wearing of crocs do have one thing in common; you shouldn’t be engaging in either if you’re older than 12.

(Crocs caveat: unless working in an operating theatre)

I used to wonder if in some dark corner of the internet angry men argued about vacuum cleaners. Years later I don’t even have to check to know that they do

Ordered yesterday early, arrived here today just. Superb given the Christmas post!

Two years ago to the day I adopted this little scrap of a cat.

Best thing I ever did for helping with my ongoing larks with PTSD.

I know it’s a cliche but whilst I ‘rescued’ her she was the one doing the real rescuing.

A safe home, good food, toys, treats and countless beds are a small price to pay for everything she has done in return.

She is Jonesy and my absolute hero.

I have just removed the old broken toilet seat and replaced it with a nice new soft close one.

These tasks were completed with zero hassle and no injuries.

If you knew me in the real world you would be treating this news in the same way you would if you found out a chimpanzee had successfully carried out thoracic surgery.

Jonesy and I have been flat mates for two years and she’s never shown any interest in the tv even when I’ve put birds or other cats on it for her to swear at.

One evening this week though I put Skull Island on and she was suddenly rapt in the opening fight right up until Kong’s massive face hoved into view.

At which point she fled SHRIEKING from the room only to slink back a few minutes later to hide behind the curtain and keep a watch out for giant gorillas…

    The second picture is of the album cover of ‘Unknown Pleasures’ by Joy Division. The image is a ridgeline plot of the radio emissions given out by a pulsar, a "rotating neutron star". originally named CP 1919. This is set in the centre of a black background.
    The final picture is the promotional image for GoodFellas. It has the three central actors, Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci at the top of the picture. They are dressed in suits and the inference is they are standing just in the shadows. At the centre is the logo for the film which is just above a blue and white image of a body lying underneath a bridge of some sort. There are cats parked either side which seem to be from the 50s.

    I don’t know about best either way but I’m playing with an Xbox pad on my pc (which is hooked up to my big tv hence the pad) and it works really beautifully.

    It utilises a different interface which I suspect is slower than the one for m&k but it’s intuitive and really well designed based on radials accessed from the triggers and collar button rather than a hot bar set up.

    I imagine the m&k UI is equally top notch but I haven’t felt compelled to try it so can’t comment.

    I had no plans tonight so I thought I might have a bath and read whilst listening to a few tunes.

    Unfortunately the goblin that I live with had other ideas.

    Somehow she found her way to the top of the door overlooking the bath and as you can see settled in for some creepy staring.

    This door stuff is new though and she hadn’t figured how to get down so wailed incredibly loudly until I got out of the bath to help her down.

    A spa experience this wasn’t.

    I know it’s redundant saying cats are weird little goblins but my cat is a weird little goblin.

    A few minutes ago there was a huge crash of thunder and an almost instant crackle of lightning. She half opens an eye, mutters some dark cat profanity and goes back to sleep.

    This is a creature who usually flees for the hills at a hint of bin bag rustling and who believes the vacuum cleaner is a demon arrived from cat hell to claim her soul.

    Weird. Little. Goblin.

    I spent a few minutes on and I am clearly missing something because I felt like I saw the Emperor parade past with his balls hanging out whilst everyone else there was telling him his trousers were magnificent.

    I’m not an analyst though and I’m sure they’ll add functionality etc but what really made me raise my eyebrows is that people who have had months and options galore to flee the yoke of Elmo are suddenly behaving like Che Guevara and lauding Zuckerberg like Castro….
