You know, from about 2015, through 2020, I would open my news aps wondering to myself, "what has the Orange One done now?"

Now in 2024, I'm so sick, nauseated, disgusted, amazed and TERRIFIED by him. And yet, he is still, STILL an almost hourly presence in (your fav media here).

And worse. His poison has seeped into state, county and local politics as well.

We MUST stop this madness.

I'm not going to say VOTE BLUE, or anything like that.

What I AM going to say is VOTE! We can't just ignore it away. We can't just "it never works" it away. No "nothing gets done" b.s.

Because something DOES get done. We are witnessing it in real time. Hourly.

VOTE. Vote people who care about people. Care about democracy. Have respect. Civility.

We ARE all in this together. VOTE. JUST DO IT! (Sorry Nike!)

@Snowshadow @GottaLaff I voted relentlessly & encouraged others to do the same. IT'S NOT ENOUGH! I'm now the treasurer of a PAC working to win back some semblance of civility, respect & transparency in our city's council, personally supporting council candidates, with $'s, time, & coaching.

Folks, it's time to step up.Share with your friends and neighbors WHY you vote the way you do, your values, your priorities. And ask them to vote. Ask them to do the same with their friends and neighbors. TY

I have just tested + for -- my 1st time. I wear masks, but hardly anybody else does. Went to 6 pharmacies in search of ...only one has the drug, but declined insurance & demanded $1600.38 for 5-day supply. Outrageous.

A friend went to a MLK prayer breakfast this morning, and reported a part of talk given. This is priceless, and soooo accurate:

"The presentations were all about race relations in America and how the "pull yourself up by your boot straps" crowd are stealing people's boots."

So yeah, the people could pull themselves up - but ya gotta stop stealing our boots!!

Dodged a plumbing bullet this morning. Hot water to the kitchen frozen (it's -7f here this morning) - which is weird on so many levels - did I mention it was the HOT water side that froze. (I know, I know, physics!)

Anyway, a gentle warmup with a hair dryer and we're back in business, without the "pleasure" of a burst pipe. Now to find the air leak that permitted this to happen.

1/ Health Update:

The big news is, I ain't dying - or at least not from my amyloidosis diagnosis (go ahead, say that 10 times fast! Ha!) - or at least not any time soon. Yes, I have amyloidosis. No, I don't have a really evil variety - i.e. one that loves to invade the heart. So going forward, need to keep an eye on my bladder, and in 3 years or so, do another nuclear/CT-scan like we did yesterday…

2/ There is zero evidence of plaques in my heart. I have what is known as TTR Amyloidosis - and there are two branches of that - wild, and genetic (inherited). The genetic variety is what kills people fast(er). The wild type typically is found in one organ, and "usually" stays there. There is no treatment known, specifically no EFFECTIVE treatment known, for my type.

3/ The only drug "potentially" available is a powerful NSAID ( think Tylenol on steroids), but they only see that as effective in “maybe” 15-20% of cases - and the downsides, far outweigh any potential upside. So all we have to do is monitor what we've got, and just keep on truck’n!

So after months of HIGH ANXIETY - it's chill out time. Going to have to find something else to die of. Fine with me!!!

Apparently my body is in revolt. Off to the big city today for some "dread disease" testing, analysis and prognosis in the morning.

One of those rare, most people never heard of it things.

I love mammatus clouds - have found them intriguing ever seen a pile of green ones preceded a tornadic super-cell in my vicinity.

But I've never ever seen them with an approaching winter storm in 35f temps.
