@DavidBFox I've been researching SCUMM the last couple weeks and there's one thing I can't seem to find an answer to and I hoped you might know. How were dialog trees handled? Was there a separate tool and or data format or was it all just handled as inline strings in SCUMM scripts?

I really enjoy the reality show, #GlowUp for make-up artists on Netflix.

There are multiple rounds before each elimination, so it's harder for just one piece of bad work to knock you out.

Each episode shows a different kind of make-up, followed by one super creative art piece.

And, the judges seem to use they/them pronouns for everyone.

I have a cold and cough. A regular, splutter-like-it's-1999 version.

(I checked it isn't covid with a couple of rapid tests, and it really doesn't feel like when I had covid earlier this year.)

But. I've an appointment for my next covid vaccine today, and I'm hoping they don't block me when they hear me cough. Rescheduling is possible, but a pain as I have all the paperwork filled in for today!

I'm hoping the lack of fever... and maybe holding my breath... will see me through 😅

I am (slowly and painfully) reading a story in Japanese for language learners.

It involves a kid who is caught stealing his classmate’s fancy colouring pencils and is dragged off to the teacher.

It’s his favourite teacher and he’s mortified (this is a Japanese story 😂).

The teacher places a bunch of grapes on his knee.

Now he seems to be carrying these around as some sort of penance, and everyone is avoiding him.

Starting to suspect this has twisted into a weird psychological thriller 😳

I'm going to submit a journal paper this year, which means the bill for publication will either come this fiscal year (before March 31) or... next fiscal year... depending on the speed of the reviewer.

Finance wants us to declare this month if we want to rollover any budget, so I asked them how to handle this uncertainty.

They seem completely flabbergasted and I can only assume no one has ever submitted a paper between November ~ February before in the whole history of the universe 🤔

I just rode in THE POSHEST TAXI. It was a free upgrade while using the GO Japan taxi app!

The taxi was the sliding door kind and was like a first class flight inside, with individually sculpted chairs that recline and have footrests, climate control and a charging cable for my phone.
