House Speaker Republican Mike Johnson told reporters Tuesday that his office notified Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer’s staff the day before that if the Senate leader does not sign the draft invitation for Netanyahu by Tuesday, he will proceed with inviting the Israeli prime minister to address just the House. If the US saw lack of ICC jurisdiction as a valid defense that exempts Israel from ICC prosecution, then US would not have welcomed ICC arrest warrants for Putin—who also rejects ICC jurisdiction. But instead the US happily welcomed ICC warrants against Putin, and stands by those warrants to this day.

International rules based order mandates consistency in law and the application of law—for opponents & allies alike. That's how justice is supposed to work.

I think the central problem with this Judge's announcement is, the announcement preceeded any formal investigation or coordination with Israel/Gaza, as the ICC had scheduled to meet prior to the statements.
