I just imposed a series of tariffs on goods made in China:

25% on steel and aluminum,
50% on semiconductors,
100% on EVs,
And 50% on solar panels.

China is determined to dominate these industries.

I'm determined to ensure America leads the world in them.

Joe Biden ran as a union president and he would hardly be that if he didn't try to protect over a million union jobs that China is trying to take away from us.

Of course China's EVs are cheaper since they can use slave labor and have no significant effective environmental regulations.

The comparison of geothermal heat pumps and air source heat pumps, where geothermal heat pumps really shine is their performance advantage, so to speak, when the weather is more extreme. So, in very high temperatures and in very low temperatures, that efficiency improvement can be double or even more.

I came across someone saying they were proud of all the protesting they did when they were younger and that’s fine.

Anyway, one of the things they listed was being proud of stopping America from going into nuclear power and let me just share that this attitude and movement set us back pretty far on clean power and it’s good to look into why. 1/2

What I find frustrating with the nuclear lobbyists is how many conspiracy theories of the fossil fuel industry that they share about solar and wind like this one:

"Banking on decarbonising with wind and solar power alone is an experiment we shouldn’t be prepared to take - and one that has failed in Germany, with great cost to citizens and the country."

It is also important to keep nuclear's water use in mind too imo.

It's not true. Germany is decarbonizing and their early investment in solar and wind are what made the prices for them as inexpensive as they are today.

"The analysis, by the Berlin-based thinktank Agora Energiewende, shows that emissions in Germany dropped to 673m tonnes (Mt) last year, 46% below 1990 levels and beating the government’s 2023 climate goal of 722Mt"

I'm not doing anything. I just posted some things about nuclear and Germany's decarbonization efforts showing that we don't need more nuclear which is why I'm opposed to it, but it's fine that you are among those that support it.

We don't have to agree on everything. I sure didn't mean it to look like I was attacking your position.

The IRA supports nuclear too so it's not like the industry is under threat.

Did you see the campaign video they made at the courthouse? It was Lara Trump and the congressmen begging for people send more money to fund Trump's legal fees.

They're just disgusting and how our media treats them as anything other than grifters is disgusting.

Of course the people that profit from the cheap Chinese solar panels are opposed to the new tariffs whereas the companies trying to build solar panels in the U.S. have a different attitude about them.

At this point in the election, I'd just suggest that everyone that wants for the USA to transition away from fossil fuels should restrain from criticizing Joe Biden because there are already of plenty of people attacking Joe Biden and Democrats.

Because China's behavior has not improved, statute 301 made it necessary for the tariffs to be retained and extended.

Like China's silk & road initiative, they use cheap goods to addict a country's consumers to their products which undercuts the local economies to the benefit of China's.

Estimates are that 15,000 civilians have tragically lost their lives because Hamas has been using them as human shields. If Israel were trying to kill all of the Palestinians than that number would be much higher and the number of Israeli soldiers killed would have been much lower.

What would you have expected a democratic country to do after an attack as horrific as October 7th if you don't like the way Israel is responding?

The Palestinian government rejected Bill Clinton's efforts to create a Palestinian state. If they had of accepted that instead of falling for the Soviet Union's lies and accepting their bribes than I expect that Israelis would have never made someone like Netanyahu their prime minister.

But regardless, that's ancient history. We can only go forward from where we are since we can't go back in time to change their minds.

California state transportation officials are looking for drivers to participate in what will likely be the final test on a new system aimed at replacing the gas tax with a more reliable funding source based on the number of miles you drive, not how many gallons your car guzzles.

This latest study is looking for participants statewide who will pay the mileage-based travel fee every month, but also receive a credit for the gas taxes or EV registration fees to ensure they aren't double-taxed.

FPOTUS Trump has promised to end offshore wind in the USA if he's elected and every Republican supports this position because the fossil fuel industry owns the GOP even more than does the NRA!

Do you want to know why the fossil fuel industry is so opposed to offshore wind? There's enough offshore wind capacity to power the U.S. FOUR times over that's why.

The entire goal of the GOP is to protect FF industry profits. So if you are not supporting Democrats you're supporting global warming!

Maryland Governor Wes Moore signed a bill aimed at reevaluating and potentially revising existing offshore wind project plans, setting the stage for the state's goal of achieving 8,500 megawatts of offshore wind energy capacity by 2031.

The bill signed on May 9 will empower the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) to open proceedings to evaluate offshore wind projects, including offshore wind renewable energy credit (OREC) pricing.

This is not meant to open up attacks on Joe Biden. He and his administration must do better. But tragedies like this can be better avoided if we don’t let Republicans into office who destroy our programs. Once they’re gone, they’re hard to rebuild. Think about it.

This note isn't entirely related to this poor young man's experience. It's more about the whole end of our Afghanistan operation.

Trump had Pompeo surrender to the Taliban, but didn't do any of the preparation for our soldiers to withdraw with dignity nor set up any system to help our Afghan allies that risked their lives helping us. It's so shameful that our press has given him a free ride on this issue and use it solely as a way to attack Joe Biden in their attempt to be "fair".

I suppose that they are counting on the Speech and Debate Clause to protect them from contempt of court charges, but what this activity by the Republicans should make clear to the judge is that if the jury finds Trump guilty than he should be sentenced to jail right away because he's continuing to commit the same crimes and is a danger to society.

There is one clear fact about Gaza. Global warming will not be good for Gaza.

Not supporting Joe Biden right now is pure unadulterated climate science denial or in best possible light ignorance about global warming.

The difference between the DNC and GOP on climate and energy policy is crystal clear and obvious. Since global warming is an existential crisis we have to do everything we can to avoid as much of it as we can.
