If they don't hold Trump accountable for any of the election stealing stuff, then it's time for a free-for all.

Everyone can send electors to DC for the elections. Let's have 3 different congresses. If there is not accountability the only option left is to try to win by breaking more rules.

It'd be a terrible mess. Let's not do it. (hopefully)

Seeing comments writing off the Deep South bc the commenters don’t like some of the politicians there. These folks should consider that when they do that, they’re making the same mistake that white nationalists do: assuming that the only people who exist and/or matter are white Republicans. There are lots and lots of people in the Deep South who, for a host of historical & intentional reasons, cannot fully participate politically. When you write off their states, you write them off too.

@GovTrack this. This is what I try to tell people- I live in Florida and it’s politics are awful, but ppl do not take the time to see the Gerry mandering, the “lost mail in votes” and various other barriers. They mostly like to feel superior, until I mention their own areas issues.

people that tell marginalized folks that they "just have to wait for the bigots to die off"

  1. deem themselves worthy of deciding when someone else's dignity ought to be recognized (ps am I really supposed to be comforted by maybe seeing equity at 100, if then?)

  2. presume to know more than marginalized person about the nature of oppressive structures

  3. use this as a response instead of doing the bare minimum work of addressing bigotry in their own lives

@thiswomanswerk @drcaberry I had mistakenly assumed that at age 18. Raised in a very nice liberal bubble which was shattered in college. All sort of awful exists and isn’t dying at all. :(

    A profoundly dissonant and slightly baffling pattern that I've heard from half a dozen social & political commentators at this point: in a single piece of commentary (blog, podcast, video) they will say both "facebook is evil, I hate that threads is taking over the world, social media monopolies need to be broken up, boo big tech" and then "ugh this mastodon thing with the multiple servers is too confusing nobody will use it". Like what do they all think 'broken up' social media will look like?

    @glyph I really enjoy Mastodon. The only thing I truly regret is how a tweet aimed at a company would generate results that simply calling the company didn’t. But it’s a cess pool now

    We're seeing more and more accounts on other social media platforms censoring normal anatomical words as if they're dirty - using nonsense terms like "v&g1n@". You'll never catch us doing that. Here's why...

    @vagina_museum ahhh and the last three GYN I visited were- actively horrible- made weird comments etc - so maybe it’s not embarrassment? Maybe it’s because even with female MD’s we’ve enough past experiences to… fill a book or two.

    Some days I miss Aidan the Wonder Dog more than others, and every day I miss him a lot. Missing him more than usual today.
    Only dog I knew who stacked frisbees as he caught them. We played a lot of house frisbee when he was too old to chase them.
    He sang along to this mvmt of a Telemann viola concerto every time it played—it was on my work mix, so he sang it a LOT. I still crack up when I hear it.

    I'm not exactly happy about it but maybe if we all pitch in together we can get together enough cash to take Clarance and Alito to City Island where you can fish on the dock, then we can take them Applebees @ Bronx Terminal Market & maybe even a little shopping at Target after. "Yes, Justice Thomas... anything you want in the whole store!" we'll say (& hope he doesn't pick a plasma TV or something...)

    Maybe then they will make better decisions.

    If it must be done? I shall grin and bear it. 🥺

    People often have very specific ideas about the style of music they like. What genre “their” music is.

    I love to experiment. Sometimes I feel tangled up on a Twister mat of genres when writing music, trying to be sure that it will sound distinctly different from any other track.

    @dgar it’s important to listen (and read) widely because even if it isn’t “your thing” how would we know if we didn’t hear it? I’m actually most sad that radio was so bought up my media that it barely changes city to city.
