Ice Cubes is now available as a proper macOS application! If you had the iOS app installed on your mac, you can remove it and install this one instead.

This is the first version. A lot of macOS-specific features will be added in the future!

Ice Cubes will launch later this week as a proper macOS (Catalyst) app!

• Intel Mac support!
• Better performances on macOS.
• Finally no more window title bar!
• Multi windows support for the editor, the media viewer and more!
• Many other improvements on macOS.

And this is just be the beginning for the macOS release!

He did it! Posting multiple posts at once are coming to the app in the next version!

Bluesky timeline, notification and profile tabs are now working in Ice Cubes! Will do an App Store update as soon as the support is good enough.

The update is out. Maybe you read a generic bug fixes and performances improvements. Well it’s true. It’s about that. I’ve heard the app is 15% more buttery. And it’s true too.

Ice Cubes will be iOS 17+ only in a couple of weeks. Don’t worry if for some reason you can’t update your iOS version you’ll still be able to use the last available update of the app. As long as Mastodon is not making any breaking change in their API (and they most probably won’t) you’ll be fine.
Don’t forget to update your devices to iOS 17 (if you can) on Monday! You’ll get a much faster Ice Cubes for free!

The 1.9.12 update is live!

• Added a thread indicator above posts in the timeline.
• Added a tag indicator above posts in the timeline if the post is in your home timeline because you follow this tag.
• The photos/videos will be resized correctly when you rotate your iPad.
• Added a new AI assistant option to generate image descriptions.
• New Christmas icons!

The 1.10 update will be a massive update. Semi-automatic timeline sync, many bug fixes, and a reworked default layout. Less cluttered and more space! It's mostly a tweak to the avatar-leading layout.

If you already have a custom theme / tweaked display settings, nothing much will change. It's for new users/app install. But you can always hit "Restore defaults" in the display settings to enjoy the new sensible defaults values.

You asked for it? It's coming! You can now not only 🤖 generate image descriptions but you can then translate them to your Mastodon language setting (and if not set, it'll use your device locale).

• Initial Bluesky bridge support, you can connect to Bluesky using skybridge.fly.dev as a server. Not all features are supported using this bridge yet.
• Block and mute directly from the ... on posts in the timeline.
• Add a setting to choose if you want to share post text + link or just link.
• Better accounts row UI in search.
• Various localizations improvements.
