Great article, thank you.

That's an amazing turnaround considering that they were on the brink of bankruptcy. A friend who works for AMD told me it was only the settlement AMD got from Intel over the kickback scheme that allowed it to survive. (It was that Intel scheme that put them at the brink, btw.)

Dr. Su did a great job leading them out of that crisis too.

    But it fits with the behavior we've seen.

    The Dems want to cry foul, but the prosecutor must give his reasoning for declining to charge.

    Again, the quotes of Biden forgetting things are in a deposition. If Dems wanna complain, that deposition can be released. I suspect that would be far more damning.

    I'd suggest that it's greed directed at holding power. Most of the longest serving senators, according to the US Senate, have served within living memory. I suspect the same is true for Congress.

    I believe the issue is that US politics is extremely constrained. Internationally, the left is anti-capitalist.

    Here, both parties are pro-capitalist and have worked together to prevent any 3d parties from entering the political stage. Thus, we are stuck with a center-right and a far-right party, neither of which represents the average worker.

    There is a difference, but it's marginal and too small to make a real difference in people's lives.

    I used to work on a geriatric psych ward. I recognized that his speech was characteristic of dementia 4 years ago.

    We've all seen people stutter, and that can cause difficulty in producing speech. But that's not the same as losing one's thoughts and getting lost.

    His recent statements/lies about seeing pics of Hamas atrocities shows that he's either a liar, genocidal maniac, or in advanced stages of cognitive decline.

    I see some stuttering in the clip, but the loss of thought isn't the same.

    Dems better watch how they attack. Did you notice how counsel used quotes in the story? Those are quotes from a deposition, and that can be released if needed to protect the integrity of the investigation. It looks to me like counsel is justifying special treatment of a political elite there, which shouldn't be allowed. So, let's release the deposition!

    Any Peertube instance recommendations?

    I made an intro video for myself as an ESL (Eng 2d Lang) teacher. Taught myself how to do basic video editing and added royalty free background music. Posted to YouTube, who, of course, says it's a copyright violation. I'd rather post on PT anyway, but need to set up an account.

    Eventually, I may turn this into an ESL dedicated account.

    I'm appealing and gave them the links to the exact song I used in the appeal, but they still rejected it. The decision came so fast that I'm sure they didn't check the info I provided, so I don't want to stay there.

    If I can figure out Blender (and have time) I'm considering making an English educational channel.

    Focusing on the guilt-by-association /Russia factor plays into the conservatives hands. That was their go-to smear for decades. It's also a logical fallacy.

    Modi and Hindu nationalists are taking over Muslim mosques that were once sites of Hindi temples. How far back do the claims go? Is it recent, or does it go back to the Muslim conquest?

    How forceful are the takings? Sounds like one was violent? Are they using a dishonest court system?

    Sure, there may be an occasional cause for concern, but 86%!?

    A weapons search doesn't require stripping a subject, but stripping a person is a good way to humiliate & traumatize them.

    Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of a group is a factor in determining genocide.

    Are you aware of anyone arguing from the 13th amendment? It prohibits involuntary servitude except where the "party shall have been duly convicted."

    The drafters knew how to require additional steps before allowing execution of a provision, and chose not to do so with the 13th amendment.

    Absent evidence from Congressional debate records or from the drafters themselves, it seems this self-executing argument it's contrary to to any Originalist interpretation.

    Do you know how many foreign bases the US has? Did that include the bases nestled inside other nation's military bases so the govt can claim it's something other than a foreign base?

    Do you have any idea how many special ops missions are being conducted in our name at any given time?

    By that logic, then Israel is responsible for protecting Palestinians, yet they've allowed illegal settlements for decades and settlers who kill& harm Palestinians are nearly never held accountable.

    Even before Oct 7th, Israel had killed over 200 Palestinians in the West Bank alone.

    The neo -lib trick of arbitrary starting dates conveniently obscures the truth, but it's not working anymore.
