Make no mistake, the GOP is now the party that locks up pregnant people who cross state lines to get an abortion and cheers on guys like Kyle Rittenhouse who cross state lines to commit mass murder.

@PadreWil @StillIRise1963 The problem with that premise is that it kicks the can down the road, expecting the next gen or the one after that to be 'smarter'.

Today is a good day to punch nazis.

It's insane the way you have to fall asleep reading the absolute worst fucking news from all over the world about apocalyptic scenarios playing out and then just get up the next day and go to work like "so anyway how are we doing on our quarterly goals?"

I got the new mRNA vaccine. If it’s available where you are, it’s a great way to protect you & your community from serious illness.

A bunch of right-wingers knew there was a trans woman in the Barbie movie, but couldn't figure out which Barbie they were supposed to be angry about. On the dangerous future of paranoia and transphobia: https://www.readtpa.com/p/transphobia-and-right-wing-paranoia

"Piracy can't be stealing if paying for it isn't owning"

This is increasingly how it feels, when things you "own" digitally become inaccessible, and when shows which are locked in streaming services can get delisted on a whim, disappearing forever.

Thank you @Illuminatus for this quote.

[Edit: In case this wasn't clear, this is about entertainment and digital ownership, not physical goods]

We could be seeing the start of a Russian civil war. Prigozhyn’s statements on the war being a “racket to fund the Russian elite” could be an attempt at gaining broader support as well as an exit strategy for Russia should he succeed in taking the Kremlin.

This is a very big story and we will see a lot of new info coming out over the next 2 or 3 days.

Just for old times' sake, my petition to allow US and UK trans and nonbinary people fleeing transphobic laws and a potential genocide to claim asylum in Canada? Well, it closes in just under one week. At the moment, we're about sixteen thousand signatures short of the second-most signatures on any Canadian petition to the government. Ever.

So I'm gonna send this around one more time, with the hope that Canadians will see it, sign it, and pass it along. You will need a Canadian address (a real one) to fill out the form.

"30 years ago this week…something called the World Wide Web launched into the public domain… owned Berners-Lee's invention and…had the option to license [it] out…for profit. But Berners-Lee believed that keeping the web as open as possible would help it grow…[He] eventually convinced CERN to release the World Wide Web into the without any or fees."

30 years ago, one decision altered the course of our connected world

On April 30, 1993, the World Wide Web was released into the public domain. It revolutionized the internet and allowed users to create websites filled with graphics, audio and hyperlinks.
