A lot of small town USA is like that.
Like in my dead red area there are actual “we support our local police” yard signs. (Majority white Republican area except for College town in county)
Huge trump signs. Even the ones that don’t support trump are employed by the local State Prison.

It isn’t even just small towns. My city was probably 50,000 people and the average white citizen would literally say the same thing. It’s outside their experience to distrust leos.

Can you imagine the possible eventual net gain to society as a whole?
(Eventual and possible because ex-cons need jobs, and chances, and investment in their futures)
Without the whole prison industry ?
So many more people that could be doing so much more ecologically sustainable work?

I haven’t even gotten to the military yet.

What a great day.

You know what was different about it?

PEOPLE!

I had an hour and half to meet and mingle at a Senior Seminar at the SNF.

Tables and tables of community reps trying to solve issues that matter to me in our community.

Yes, I stopped and spoke with nearly everyone.

Yes, I came home with swag, but most of it’s purple because of my hair.😂

Good morning!

We had a wonderful day yesterday. Al’s new shoes fit. He loves his new razor he didn’t really need, he’d just forgotten how to use his other one. 😭

The cupcakes he requested were delicious, I purchased gourmet ones for him, of course.

I’m having a quiet morning before I’m off racing to accomplish all that must be done.

Sometimes the way people phrase things is so telling. For instance, telling women they should be "taking care of" their husband and children. Another adult doesn't need taken care of like a child, what you want is for women to be a Sex Mom.

Color theory is important when deciding to color one’s hair, I’ve found.

This shade of purple makes me look sallow, somehow, and NONE of the colors of the clothes I own look good with it.

Even the greys don’t mesh.

What the frig ever.

People have never really expected me to have any fashion sense.

I’ve just lost my therapist, hopefully temporarily, so I’m implementing some things she has suggested.

Self care.
Self advocate.
Listen to your body, and your doctor.

My own helpful thing? Remember your place in the Universe. Try and go wherever you feel that best, and immerse yourself in being what you are, a tiny light of consciousness that’s currently active in the vastness that is our Milky Way.

That’s really encouraging.

I’ve been trying to get mine since 5/6.

El Libre 3, only because it lasts two weeks and it’ll be easier to remember than every 10 days.

Since I’ve gone as low as 38 recently, without even knowing I was that low, is scary.

Yeah, I was fixing myself something to eat and suddenly felt that “uh oh” you get, yelled for my son to grab me my honey sticks, and proceeded to treat it as necessary. I took my BS right after I sucked down a honey stick and it was 38.
I reported it to my pharmacist/diabetic coach, he got me a glucagon injection kit while we are waiting for RX for El Libre to be filled. Since then it’s been 50 and I’m trying to do everything right. Prescribed 5/6. Still waiting.

My diabetes has been under control until I developed Cushing’s Syndrome due to hormone (cortisol) exuding nodules on my adrenal grands on my kidneys.

On Long acting Tujeo max, they dropped by 6 units on the 6th and short acting (Novolog) because of the crazy highs. Sliding scale begins at 1 unit over 200.

Now control is in the distant past.

I’m just trying to stay alive until surgery!
