There were just four years in which Dems controlled both houses of Congress plus the presidency since 1981. And not four consecutive years. Even those four years can't be said to be Democratically controlled when you consider the filibuster. Dems cannot be accused of "complacency" when they had no chance of passing anything.

I have been struggling to help my sister navigate a simple spreadsheet. She has been handwriting lists and sending them to me in the mail to help her with her job. I decided it would be so much easier to share a spreadsheet so I could help her in real time.
Now I'm not so sure.
I feel sorry for both of us because I was running out of descriptive words and ways to help her learn something I could do in my sleep.
My grandkids are so good at tech support for old people I finally had one of them walk her through it. I told the grandkids they should start a rent a grandson side hustle. My sister can't be the only one with scary limited computer skills.

I find it hard not to laugh when people at work talk about the things they do, and don't do, and why or why not, on their phones and laptops.

I used to try to help until I realized some of them don't want to be helped. They didn't even want to make an effort.

They use their age as excuses, but that's bullshit. The truth is that they never cared enough to keep up with what was happening.

So fuck it.

When I take my orange cat, Marley, to the vet in a cat carrier, he screams and hollers all the way there. He gets so very upset.

Our other cat, Shadow, is Marley's good buddy. Shadow barely makes a noise when I take him to the vet.

So I thought I'd try taking Shadow along the next time I took Marley to the vet. And, by golly, I didn't hear a peep from either of them.

So now Shadow is Marley's emotional support cat whenever he has to go to the vet.

An art gallery in Sukhum caught fire last night. More than four thousand paintings burned: the entire collection of paintings was lost.
