Before anyone gets angry about a jury giving the "wrong" verdict - remember

  • They saw all the evidence and you didn't.
  • They had instructions and you didn't
  • They may think the accused is guilty but are not persuaded there is enough evidence for conviction
  • The prosecution may have done a terrible job and left things uninvestigated
  • They may think the law is unfair and unjust

Update: Thanks and I'm starting to think it's not actually in the house. Will continue in AM.

tl;dr new iPhone 12 not yet set up.

I set it down somewhere in the house, and after hours of looking I can't find it. I still have the old iphone and it's working fine. I didn't transfer the sim card yet. Find my iphone is off.

The new iphone has plenty of battery life and is connected to wifi.

How can I find it in the house? Make it beep, use the old one for homing? Etc.

I'm a bit dim and I've just had a new boiler installed.

Is anything gained from turning a radiator down (ie not off) if the boiler is working from a thermostat?

@morgrugyn yeah, I think the problem is my total lack of understanding of the way it deploys. If I wrote 1000s of tiddlers I don't really understand how it works and I haven't been able to find an example.

@JuliaBarrell I had this discussion with someone yesterday who claimed there was a blanket change. As I said to her, I live in a valleys town and we have 50, 40, 30 and 20 zones. The idea that it is 'blanket' even within a few hundred metres of where I live is clearly and demonstrably not true.

@JuliaBarrell I don't know the detail, but it appears that local authorities in Wales decide where to have the 20 mph zones. If they are clearly (whatever that means) in the wrong place, presumably they can be changed.

Lots of people saying they will get a VPN to avoid the UK’s online safety bill. I can see it won’t be long until so called democracies start cracking down on them too. If I were a VPN provider I’d be happy at the short term boom but very worried about medium and long-term legislative environment #onlinesafetybill #vpn #privacy

@DM_Ronin right, that's what I thought.

If I was the Saudi regime (and/or other nefarious actor) I'd be buying all the popular vpns. If I was the British gov, I'd be talking to them about how they must now monitor usage
