1/… Bower:
Trump enters the courtroom. Before arriving, he lingered for a moment in the doorway, talking to his lawyers, Emile Bove and Todd Blanche. He had a piece of paper in his hand, which he waved around as he spoke.
Trump's attorney Susan Necheles hands over "a stack of news articles" by legal commentators like Jonathan Turley, others. She says Trump wants to post them, but she wants to make sure they do not violate the gag order.
"We think that they are perfectly fine."
Prosecutor:
🤔👉🏼"It seems odd that they're asking the court for an advanced ruling" on these sorts of things.
Playing around with a Meta Quest 3 version of my Vision Pro stand, and I want a flourish on top to differentiate them, but I can't decide if I prefer the inset or raised sensors. What do you think?
@arstechnica did Amazon ever claim this was “AI”? My understanding is that the stores used cameras and sensors to detect what shoppers took out of the store and these Indian reviewers were check on the system’s accuracy.
The issue isn’t that 1000 labourers were checking people out remotely and it was all smoke and mirrors, rather it’s that the automated system wasn’t accurate enough in the end.
It doesn’t change much, but it feels disingenuous to lump this in with other fake AI systems.
@arstechnica when I read “small Pro phone” I immediately thought that this would convert me from iPhone, but 6.1 inches is not small. Bring back one handable phones.
In other Apple news, it seems like they're actively adopting the term 'AI' this year, having ignored it previously. The seal now broken, I imagine 'AI’ will be used heavily in iOS 18’s marketing
I'm honestly shocked at how quickly Apple is adding new personalized playlists to Apple Music now. Via @macstories, Apple started rolling out today a brand new Apple Music mix called Heavy Rotation.
It's the first Apple Music mix that will be updated on a daily basis (which is something Spotify has been doing for years).
Well this is fun! I finally got my Apple Vision Pro in Glasgow, but it turns out it's not actually my Apple Vision Pro.
It's in the right box, but it's a 256GB model, not a 512GB, and the serial number of the device doesn't match my order. I have to assume that the store in San Francisco mixed up devices when they were packing them. And somebody in SF got a free upgrade to a 512GB one.
I suspect they would say “just bring it back”, but that's kinda hard now that I'm 5,000 miles away. Fuck.
@rileytestut I got that feeling after just the demo. Vision Pro clearly isn’t the optimal design for this type of interaction, but it still serves to make my phone feel like a heavy, cumbersome brick.
