Ich habe Tiktok gelöscht gelöscht weil es mich in eine Bubble der Rechtsextremen verortet hat, dabei liegt mir nichts ferner als daß. Es ist ein gefährliches Werkzeug wenn man nicht weiß wo man steht. :(

My attempt to leave Windows before being forced to upgrade to Win-Ad-11 went into round 2. My old Laptop used for YouTube mainly already is running Mint for a while now.

Since yesterday my 8 year old PC also has been installed anew with Mint. Its purpose is to be used for live streaming. Need to check how to mount the NTFS disks (raid 0) and compile the driver for the capture card.

Also I will verify next weeks whether I can use it for my job before migrating the main PC.

I have a life announcement! 📣

I’m going back to University! ( At 37! )

The program is self paced, online and all of my accessibility accommodations have been approved!

I’m excited to be able to take asynchronous courses in a supportive environment.

Day 1 is May 1st!
I’m studying Psychology & Philosophy.

I plan to attend Graduate School afterwards and become a Registered Psychologist in Alberta so I can do Autism assessments (and more), and provide a safe place for folks. 🏳️‍🌈

Ich hab tatsächlich meinen Kaffee Konsum von 4-5 Tassen am Tag auf 1-2 pro Woche reduziert.

Hauptsächlich damit er wieder wirkt ... Und nicht erst dann wenn ich nachts im Bett liege 😅

TW: medical stuff, meds, anxiety

So… today is the first dose of my new med for Rheumatoid Arthritis (seropositive).

I’m nervous. This means that moving forward my immune system will be even more fragile. I’ll basically be on a weekly low dose chemo drug and … wait … to see if it helps.

I’m not asking for sympathies or anything like that - I simply want to document my journey and show that just because you’re young and ‘look’ healthy —- it doesn’t mean you’re healthy.

Ich finde es interessant, auch wenn ich nicht selbst betroffen bin. Wenn Du es von Dir aus teilst, dann braucht das niemand zu kritisieren. Am Ende lernen wir alle auch durch die Erfahrungen anderer.

Ich sehe es grundsätzlich so dass Kinder, aus verschiedenen Gründen, nicht daran teilnehmen sollten. Dennoch ist der Bereich richtig und wichtig für die Eltern wo es eben anders nicht geht. Ich persönlich würde aber lieber zu Hause bleiben als mein Kind auf eine Demo mitzunehmen die es ohnehin noch nicht versteht oder wichtiger: wo potentiell gewaltbereite Leute anwesend sind.

    @2ndStar Wer sich in der Piratenpartei für eine gute "Informationsgesellschaft" einsetzt (lt. Wikipedia), was ja doch eher mehr als weniger sein sollten, und 2023 nach dem TwiXodus nie was vom Fediverse gehört hat, sollte vielleicht überlegen ob er oder sie nicht in der CDU besser aufgehoben ist - frei nach Merkel: "Das Fediverse ist Neuland"

    What did wrong:

    It was freely available.

    Instead it should have limited access and send out invite codes.

    I think I tried to be funny first, but in fact I have a serious point: Despite the psychological effect of limited access making stuff interesting it would not leave users alone with the questions which instance to chose and whom to follow.

    @Roundcat My intention with my post was not about getting more people to Mastodon, but rather helping those that jumped on the oh it is so complicated train.

    Hence artificial limitation makes it even more complicated, but tempting to get around, it may go hand in hand with an educational purpose.

    Manche meinen man darf X nicht den Nazis, Homophoben, Sexisten,… überlassen.

    Aber wenn alle anderen X verlassen, dann ist es wohl auch nichts anderes mehr als eine Telegramgruppe.

    Relevant machen das dann höchstens klassische Medien, die noch immer aus X zitieren.

    Ich poste (fast) nichts mehr auf X. Account löschen abe ich noch nicht geschafft. Aber ich bin wohl bald soweit, auch diesen letzten Strang zu kappen.

    Es ist immer das gleiche: Industrie erwartet Förderung, aber will keinerlei Einschränkung.

    Bitte entscheidet euch mal: wer gefördert werden will, muss Regeln akzeptieren. Wer eigenständig handeln will, braucht auch keine Subventionierung.

    Die Menschen sind eine Population, die insbesondere durch ihre technischen Möglichkeiten, ihre Lebensgrundlage erschöpft.

    Ähnlich wie eine Überpopulation, die irgendwann nichts mehr zu essen findet, muss die menschliche Population schrumpfen (oder ihren CO2 Ausstoß) um langfristig zu überleben. Wenn sie das nicht akzeptiert, sorgt die Natur von ganz allein dafür.

    Und wenn nur 1000 übrig bleiben, dann können sie auch den ganzen Tag im SUV sitzen bleiben...

    Was wurde aus der Forderung einer unabhängigen Kontrollinstanz? Sofern es diese gab/gibt wäre deren Aussage interessant - ich zitiere mal das Zitat eines alten Artikels: "denn weder wir Fischer noch die Bevölkerung haben ausreichend wissenschaftliche Kenntnisse, um die Qualität des Wassers zu beurteilen. Deshalb braucht es da eine Kontrollinstanz"
