The difference between today and 1968 is that Israel killed 34 Americans in June of 1967, and nobody talked about it.

One wonders what might have happened if Americans were motivated to protest the attack on the USS Liberty.

Some important lines would have already been drawn, and nobody would be playing semantic games about Israeli intentions.

Students would already know that American lives are meaningless without killing Rachel Corrie to prove it again.

History is there to study. So study.

Columbia is determined to make Jewish and Palestinian students feel waves of existential threats.

Being born in Egypt, and claiming multiple citizenships, one might hope The Baroness Shafik wouldn't want to come off as an antisemite.

An Egyptian born president who uses the same hair dye as Hosni Mubarak should've been our first clue. Now we know.

Nobody still asks if that one is an antisemite tho. Even when Jews are teargassed and dragged away in zipties.

There are a lot of things to dislike right now, but a coalition of foreign nations suppressing the vote is near the top of the list.

Down-ballot matters more than ever, so if voters are kept from the polls for another layer of reasons, we know who needs to wear it.

America is for Americans.

At the top of the list are Indigenous people and Black people.

Neither of those peoples have anything to do with Israel nor Russia.

Prioritize us, all of us, or pack your bags for your new home overseas.

If the braintrusts in Germany and the United States are worried about the rise of antisemitism, they need to take a good long look in the mirror.

Making every living generation of peaceloving Jewish citizens afraid of their current and future governments isn't a winning strategy.

You can fight fire with controlled burns in a forest.

You can't fight antisemitism by being antisemitic.

At some point we're going to stop pretending that Claudine Gay was antisemitic at all. In word, action, or deed.

She deserves an apology.

We must start considering every college president who unleashes violent goons on campus to be an antisemite.

It should be obvious that sending stormtroopers after young Jewish-Americans, Palestinian-Americans, and their allies, is a bad look.

Some colleges are led by presidents who feel violence against Jewish citizens is justified. There's a word for it.

Isn't it interesting that every killing by every cop is just a single bad apple that should never be thought to spoil the bunch, while every protest by and on behalf of marginalized people must be flawlessly perfect, or all participants deserve the brutality the police exist to deliver to them?

@theogrin @JuliusGoat It's remarkable how the same profile of a mass shooter is repeated over and over and over since Charles Whitman in 1966, and they still feed us lines about there being no obvious motive.

Meanwhile, students protesting are treated with disdain, and physical abuse, because they don't fit the profile of campus shooters?

Protestors get considered misguided extremist sheep. School shooters get considered misunderstood lonesome souls.
