My workflow for Anime Animal processing is:

• Anime watching: VLC (supports all damn formats)
• Format standardization: Handbrake (supports all damn formats)
• Video trimming: Adobe Premiere Pro (for precision)
• Video/Image Watermark + Thumbnail: Adobe After Effects (for batch processing automation)
• Animal Thumbnail: Adobe Photoshop (for blur and AI Remove tools)

I wonder if there's any good FOSS stuff to replace the Adobe Suite in there. I was trained in this stuff as a student, but paying for it without the Education discount's been quite a pain. :leafeonmoney:

Any good suggestions?

Google translate is horribly wrong in thinking that the anime "Delicious in Dungeon" is "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon" in Japanese.

I'm guessing that google thinks that Anime + Dungeon = DanMachi.

Especially if it's a good anime. I'm trying to think of examples, but I'm experiencing brain fog right now.

#TheFarawayPaladin is actually fine as a pure fantasy genre story. The plot beats feel like a DnD campaign. Party members gain powers just when they'd be useful. Evil amassing far away.

And that is why it fails to classify as "Modern Anime". There's no tropey hook. No cliffhangers between episodes. No ridiculous plot twist. Not that many people seem to care about it. :meowthinking:

Apart from the interesting beginning, there's barely any anime tropes, just regular fantasy ones. No cute elf girl (only a cute halfling girl). No animal people.

I've changed my mind about #Redux. It does have it's use cases, especially with persist and sync capability, which is exactly what is needed for stuff like a shopping cart, or my next spur of the moment project :ablobcatreachflip: .

Is there a demand for a #TweetDeck replacement for #Mastodon and #Bluesky together? I've been looking at the competition on Bsky, and somehow they really like #Flutter? I checked flutter again, and the plugin options seem to have not made much progress over the last few years. Lots of quirks in the UI that STILL haven't been fixed.

I was thinking of building a single page app and hosting it on cloudflare pages and using Redux sync to do nonsense like multi-screen, multi-account, multi-tab columns of posts. And maybe I could make it... an Electron app.

#Bluesky finally finished connecting it's first official federated server to the live system, so it moves closer to no longer being a Beta. Once people start making their own servers, moderation and managing federation becomes... well... just like Mastodon, essentially. Each server can then handle its own relaying and blocking etc.

Dorsey is part of Bluesky's board, and they waved his name around to give the fledgling project legitimacy, like any startup would. He was bullied off using the platform for being anti-trans. He focuses his posting time on Nostr (his other Twitter clone) now. So technically he has his name in it, but he won't interfere with it much since the board is bigger than just him.

Sigh. Many modern sub groups rush, and editors don't check. In the latest episode of Metallic Rouge

The dude says "おつかまり下さい". In Japan, you often hear this on the bus: ”急停車します。手摺におつかまり下さい” (Bus is stopping, please hold on to the handrails).

I mean, just look at the sequence of events: The flying ship is attacked, the dude says his line, and everyone quickly HOLDS ON TO SOMETHING. Obviously he didn't say "Capture them".

It's the exact same thing in the CR subs, so these sub groups took the CR sub and did not notice this mistake!

I just checked the dub, and he says "We're moving in!", which kinda works in the context, because they crash land, but it's NOT what he said. :neocat_blush_hide:

I get that releasing a simuldub means the timing must be very tight, but maaaan, this is just painful.

1 day later: score is -1. Post is now hidden because it's below threshold

WTF? Do people just hate anime or nerd hobbies? I gave a bunch of recommendations, so it's not like it's self-promotion or anything.

Anyone else has a cat that tells them to go to bed every night :neocat_angel_pleading: ? I was initially very surprised when my mommy cat started acting like Morgana from #Persona5 and would headbutt and meow at me to go to sleep.

She'd jump on the my desk and deliberately block my screen, meow, then jump on my bed and scream at me. She'd only stop when I'd switched off the lights and lay on my bed. She'd then curl up at my feet to sleep. :neocat_flop_sleep:

My smol cat doesn't care. I guess it's mommy cat's maternal instinct?

One thing I've noticed, and I just ran into again is that sometimes TV vs DVD/BR releases have random censorship or parts just removed for some reason.

This is Wacdnald in episode 25 of Inuyasha: The Final Act in the BR vs TV release.

There's also this cat scene from Rental Magica episode 7 (from my old tumblr) which was mysteriously removed in the DVD.

Googling Japanese dictionaries a bunch because I know I'm hearing the sounds correctly, but can't figure out the words. Apparently, one character speaks almost exclusively in slang with terms like https://kotobank.jp/word/あたぼう-425260 which is short form slang for あたりまえだ、べらぼうめ.

The Singapore (5000) and Kuala Lumpur (2500) locations seem really tiny. The Jakarta one looks like the only one with more than enough seats, but the traffic situation there was horrible the last time I visited.

Just realized it's my kitties 2nd year adoption anniversary. This was when I first got them.

They've gotten fat now.

They used to stay with a fosterer with 10 other cats, so they had to fight for food and had lots of exercise.

The vet said they're currently in a healthy range, just a little chubbier than before.

I've been wondering for a while now... What's with young Chinese guys wearing Chicago Bulls basketball attire?

It's a thing that I randomly spot. The Bulls haven't been relevant for quite some years now. Is it that they're wearing comfortable clothing from that era? That basketball pop-culture in China is still stuck there and that these clothes are still being mass produced?

I wouldn't be surprised if people wore Slam Dunk or Kuroko's Basketball cosplay, but the Chicago Bulls..? I know that Chinese tourists still like to take the iconic photo at the railway junction near Kamakurakoukoumae station but I've seen these dudes all over the place.

Due to the stormy weather, swarms of ants have migrated into my apartment. So ants have started crawling into unminded cat food, especially the dry food set on a timer overnight. :meowcrying:

I woke up to an angry mommy cat meoooow-ing at me for not-ant-infested food. Sigh.

Edit: I got one of those anti-ant trays that are advertised 'from Taiwan' (made in China), that are effective, but I need to buy more for their automatic feeders as well. Anyone know how they work?
