@Migueldeicaza right, I get info about it on some hashtags like and others, thereā€™s the @palestine group, there are some accounts like @EndIsraeliApartheid that do info posts and @nullagent has been a good resource for some US domestic actions. Iā€™ll probably think of more. @EgyptianAphorist as well.

Why would young people be uncomfortable with the word war? For Gen Z, there has been constant war for their entire life. Peace was something that happened back in the 90's.

@vfrmedia @sidereal I think thatā€™s it, stateside the wars have seriously curtailed our rights but the main thing people point to is the TSA, there havenā€™t been many material consequences to our lives. You donā€™t hear about not being able to build a house because steel is going to build jets, or eggs need to be rationed for the troops, etc

@sidereal I think the bigger issue came with the VC exit to IPO. I donā€™t have an issue paying for the work (and did!) but theyā€™re skimping on quality a lot, it has really declined a lot in recent years.

@sidereal yea once things settle down a bit I want to get more structured in Spanish specifically so I can speak it more to the kid. Itā€™s still decent for like every day practice to keep those neurons firing imo, but I canā€™t say itā€™s a good way to learn a language

@sidereal yea exactly. Honestly I have some problems with vocab on Duolingo but with languages where you have some foundation itā€™s ok. In Arabic where I had a lot less foundation it was pretty bad

@sidereal I thought their Haitian creole course was easy to follow and interesting, but too short and I donā€™t think theyā€™re going to invest more time in it.

French is where Iā€™ve seen the most deterioration in quality, but Iā€™m a fairly fluent French speaker so I canā€™t really speak to how well it teaches a new learner

@Crell you can use ā€œcompose.yamlā€ now instead of ā€œdocker-compose.yaml

I just think itā€™s funny that itā€™s so close to composer, definitely going to mess with a cli workflow šŸ˜‚

Someone I know is having a baby, and I ran into their spouse. We were talking about how the due date is close, and I said I recommended something like mealtrain dot com (preferably something less corporate) where friends and family can sign up to drop off meals on your porch or sign up for other things/chores without disturbing the new parents. He looked at me, perplexed, and asked why they wouldn't be able to cook their meals after having a baby.

Dr Mohammed Nounou was a pharmacist at Al Shifa hospital. He refused to abandon his patients when ordered to evacuate and was executed.

Journalist Mohammad Abu Sukheil was executed around Al Shifa hospital yesterday. He was a radio correspondent for a local Gaza station.
