If the gods exist, it's mighty presumptuous to think they have our best interests at heart, or even think about us at all.

ccdudley85,
@ccdudley85@mastodon.world avatar

@RickiTarr Polytheism specifically claims that the gods don't care about us but about themselves and their particular attributes.

In monotheism, the act of creation forms a closer link.

Lamppost EV chargers are the answer to how you charge your vehicle in cities.

This is possible because when energy intensive street lamps were replaced by LEDs, there’s excess power for charging EVs.

All cities should do this. ⚡️

What if you were allowed to put any picture/text on any book cover. What is your book choice and what picture/text would you choose?

Seriously heard someone saying they don't listen to many black artists, because they aren't really into rap. Bitch please, feel free to share songs from Black artists from any genre. Here is one of my favorites, if you like this song please check out her other work:

YOUR knowledge about something is NOT all there is to know.

@ccdudley85@mastodon.world avatar

@StillIRise1963 Some things can be known exhaustively. The letters of an alphabet provide an example.

But even something of your own creation such as a song or story can contain mysteries that you can not plumb.

Okay, since I'm on laundry today, a little story.

When hubs and I first got married, we were very much enjoying our little Honeymoon Bubble, and we were being lazy as Hell. We didn't do many chores, but the laundry we really let go. We weren't wearing many clothes at home anyway, so why bother. Anyhow, after weeks we finally reached the swimming suit bottoms situation, and decided it was time. It was loads and loads of laundry that needed done, so I had my husband back the trunk of the car up to a window of the house, then he popped the trunk, and I started tossing laundry out of the window into the trunk. We went to the bank, got about $30 bucks in quarters, and found the emptiest laundry mat we could, and did it all in one fell swoop. We folded it all and loaded it back into the car using those wheeled laundry carts. We never let it get that bad again, and decided it was time to be adults, and do regular chores, but it still makes me laugh imagining what the neighbors and the laundry attendant thought.

Feel free to share your own laundry story, if you feel like it, I love hearing people's stories!

Me: Wouldn't it be cool to add a couple new songs to my rotation, I'm gonna ask for recommendations, and then get some stuff done.

Also Me: Still sitting around listening to bangers hours later, not getting anything done.

@RickiTarr Curating your playlist is doing something. It will later be a soundtrack for doing other things.

I especially recommend King Sunny Ade for lap swimming. It becomes a meditation.

"Come July 1, school districts in Florida could authorize volunteer chaplains — those who are religious or not and with no training — to provide support and services for students in public schools, though GOP-controlled legislatures across the country are rejecting similar proposals.”

@ccdudley85@mastodon.world avatar

@StillIRise1963 I take training courses sponsored by my church to spot and prevent abuse of children. I wonder how many denominations do this? What provisions would be made for unaffiliated "chaplains," I wonder?

ccdudley85,
@ccdudley85@mastodon.world avatar

@StillIRise1963 One would think that exposing kids to unsound doctrine in a compulsory setting would earn the disapproval of most religious parents. I attended a Quaker school in middle school but as Puritan descendents, we didn't have too many doctrinal disagreements with them. Pretty sure one of the older kids headed to the Maratimes to avoid the draft out of pacifist sentiments. There can be doctrinal consequences.

If musicians/musical artists are too afraid to make music about fascism or Palestine, we’re in a really sad fucking place.

@GottaLaff This trial seems to be about how people were deceived into voting against someone who had been cheated on in favor of someone who cheated by illegally covering up the cheating and then covering up the cover-up.

Blame the deceivers on all sides, not the deceived, I think.
