@metin Really cool composition that looks like your logo! Hiding symbols and images in the composition of another image is something a lot of people do these days using generative AI, but I've always liked this idea!
I find it interesting that you use Dutch names. I'm always torn between English and German names. From programming, I'm used to using English so that others can understand the code. But this is not a requirement for private projects 🤷
When I was a youngster in the late 1980s, I formed an Amiga game dev team with 2 friends.
Before making games, we started by trying to sell game music that used minimal RAM, made with our music editor SIDmon.
To promote our game music, this energetic music module was composed by our musician Ramon Braumuller. The file, including tiny sampled sounds, is only 22 kilobytes.
@metin This is my favourite track in the game. I also really like the second level with all the elevators and moving steel beams. This track is so fitting with its industrial sounds!
At the moment, I'm still stuck in this level until I find the time to continue playing 🙂
@metin Don't worry, I have no intention of leaving Mastodon! I was just on a business trip and my spontaneously booked "hotel" had no WIFI. 🙈 And since my instance is self-hosted and I only have an IPv4 at home at the moment, I cannot access my server from my mobile internet...
I really like the arrays in MagicaCSG. It's not obvious how to do it at first, but it's so powerful!
@metin Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the offline time (especially as I forgot to bring my laptop charger 😂). I spent the evenings outside, it was very healthy!
I agree 100%, the snapping for radial arrays is so good! It's a blast to create round structures like that. I can't believe that most of the other tools offer this as well 🤷
@metin A lot of these businessmen in your illustrations look like Trump. I know you said before that this was unrelated (although he was around as a businessman at the time), but the coincidence/stereotype is still funny 😂
Interesting approach. But it's commercial, not decentralized, and is backed by Sam Altman and more Big Tech honchos, so my first reaction is skepticism.
@metin Interesting read, but I see some fundamental problems.
Even if this project were open source, it would still be impossible to know what the algorithm/AI is doing. Moreover, even if there are no followers, there will be some other not-so-obvious metric used to favor posts over others; there has to be, because the algorithm has to prioritize what to show you.
I think this is very dangerous and easily exploitable, just like existing platforms with non-transparent algorithms 😬
