Today Swedish brand is launching , a portable . https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/airinum/hale?ref=discovery. It claims to remove 99% of airbone particles incl. virus. There are no certifications like or for purifiers, other than , which doesn't give the same level of assurance. This piece of research from Aug22 is promising though https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35947419/, but Airinum stopped short of guaranteeing safety from for @longcovid sufferers. Thoughts? It would be a gamechanger for me

Oh no! FFP2 plus the ToGo in certain situations.

When I gave an unmasked 'friend' a lift in my car, I wore a mask and had the filter on high between the seats (my dog was also in the car and needed good air).

I wouldn't go to the dentist relying on just this small filter.

Bob Dylan recorded Red River Shore for his monumental 1997 Time Out of Mind, but in the end it did not make the record. That choice makes sense; it would have been out of place on the record.

But I’m struck by how perfectly the song would fit on Springsteen’s 1995 Ghost of Tom Joad.

I even hear Dylan mimicking Springsteen’s vocal mannerisms.

Thinking about how measles erases your immune memory so it's possible to catch chickenpox again but, here's the thing:

That first infection never left, so what's happening in your body in the meantime while your immune system learns to recognize and attack chickenpox again? And can you get another strain? Can you get a chickenpox super-infection? I actually don't have answers, but I feel like it warrants our attention.

Didn't the Covid apps only record encounters that lasted at least 15 ms plus a certain distance?

Shorter meetings leading to infections weren't recorded.

Not everyone used the app.

Don't know about the UK - in Ireland teachers weren't allowed to use the app during school hours.

The app predicts nothing.

You can catch Covid when passing someone outside.

I am shocked by the ignorance here in Ireland. The one-sided information comes from the top down to the media. Subtle hints have shown that at least some at the top of the government are 'brown' (brown as in 1933).

I know of a few situations where I would have caught Covid if I had not been wearing an FFP2 (N95?) mask.
Before 'real' masks were available, I might have been lucky with my homemade 600tpi cotton plus a layer of silk masks - always ensuring the best possible fit.

That's not a good source. The article states that these numbers are as of September 18th.
I am not sure of the exact figures, but the UK has almost 200 cases, Northern Ireland has 1 and Ireland has about 10, including JN.1
(Last time I looked)

Edit: 240 UK & 3 NI (at this point in time)
