Hey, we are a local NPR station in Boston, Massachusetts. I'd love for you to have someone to rely on here too, but those are likely jobs for the Associated Press, Reuters, or NPR -- none of which, to my knowledge, has invested here.

Our newsroom doesn't really have the reach to do those stories justice.

@JoshuaACNewman We are members of the Associated Press network, and we also receive the NPR wire stories, of course. I could link to those. I wonder if it would be frustrating to readers that I couldn't say much about how a story was covered, or why it was covered in a particular way, because it's likely I wouldn't know.

The everyday heroes of the were out in force across the course this morning.

Glorimar Samalot is here from to run today’s marathon and complete her 6-star card - a card that shows runners completing marathons across the globe. It’s taken her 9 years and Boston was the last one to check off the list.

Colleen Rosazza is here with the Badass Running Moms crew from Colorado. It's her first marathon and her squad is 100% behind her.

Tim Cunningham has run 13 marathons barefoot and 73 marathons altogether. His goal is to complete 100 marathons before he turns 50. He’s 46. Tim is running to raise money for the health clinic in Springfield, MA. “I believe health care is a human right and all people deserve access to quality care,” Tim said.

Neyale Mendez is here from Morelia, cheering on his partner Manuel Mendez. Boston is the couple’s third stop, after running races in New York and London.

These New York Road Runners have been coming to Boston for 15 years to volunteer and cheer on runners, just like they do in NYC. 😳 Mindboggling: AP reports that mens' wheelchair division racer Marcel Hug broke the course record AFTER crashing and righting himself to complete the race:

"Switzerland’s Marcel Hug righted himself after crashing into a barrier when he took a turn too fast and still coasted to victory in the Boston Marathon."
