Vision Pro filming tip – play from the Music app for a few seconds when you start your screen recording.
If the speakers pick it up in your external recording, you can use the screen capture audio to match up the footage and sync everything better in post.
Sometimes technology is so cool. My partner only uses an iPad, which for some reason you can’t print to networked printers from, and typically needs to print shipping labels every or every other day. [cont.]
So I set up a shared iCloud folder and Folder Actions (thanks @jsnell for the idea) to auto-print and later delete anything placed in there.
This will save so many “can you print?”/“did you print?” conversations.
Are you getting serious about Swift and developing apps for Apple platforms and potentially interested in joining a community of other experienced programmers looking to help one another learn?
@collin I ended up chaining together a Shortcut (for my watch) that hits a remote Keyboard Maestro trigger URL which fires another Shortcut to actually create the note.
@collin Agreed. At the very least, the legacy-ish “note to self” that’s existed pre-Shortcuts (and is oddly on the HomePod) would really go a long way.
I own a 14 Pro Max and in no way need a new phone but all you people out there posting about your pre-orders are doing some serious damage to my resolve.
@gedeonm But with an Ultra, you could do those things if you wanted. You can’t say for certain that having a non-Ultra watch is why you don’t do those things. Better safe than sorry.
Fun Fact: I’ve never cared about being a good programmer. I care about solving problems. It’s amazing how many problems can be solved by mediocre programming.
@kyle 1000%. All my friends / classmates had them. The closest I got was playing with Nextel’s phone emulator on their website (which, in hindsight, was pretty baller). I hoped the walkie-talkie functionality of the Apple Watch would let me finally live the dream, but has ultimately been disappointing.
@kyle Yeah. I was just starting high school when they started to peak, so a decent amount of folks had them. Couldn’t go anywhere without hearing that chirp. Not sure if it was because I grew up in a pretty rural area or not.
