Last night I went to bed all agitated and my wife asked what was wrong and I said "Ugh, I spent too much time tonight arguing with people on the Internet." and she said (in a very concerned voice) "Please don't do that. Gonna try (again) to leave the PocketCHIP out to be used as the control center for Kodi and our music server. I've got a little touchable kodi remote interface but I also have a little program that lets me use the hardware keyboard buttons to navigate Kodi. Which is nicer than constantly having to glance back and forth at the screen to make sure my finger is in the right spot.

Plus having it handy means I can grab it to do some #gemini and fediverse browsing.

Car-brains: I need this $60k SUV because I have to go grocery shopping and have a kid to haul around.

You know how in so many TV shows everyone that is going to bed, in bed or just got out of bed has PJs on? It has me wondering how common it is to wear actual PJs to bed...as an adult.

We put our kids in PJs but that's different. They don't always like to have a blanket on them so they'd get cold and wake up without. Personally, I haven't worn PJs my entire adult life except when it's REALLY cold and I just want the extra layers for warmth. It's just extra laundry to do and I run hot anyways so I'd just get overheated and strip them off pretty much immediately.

Do you wear PJs to bed as an adult?

So far on my Playdate I've gravitated mostly towards nice polished arcadey games and puzzle/puzzle platform style games. It just lends itself nicely towards those uncomplicated but tight, quick session types of games.

I wish the book industry adopted the way the music industry did physical/digital releases. It's pretty standard to get a digital download of the album along with the physical release when you buy a record or you can buy a CD and it's really easy to rip a digital copy. Would be great if you could purchase a physical book and get a little code to download an epub along with it.

At this point anything that is designed in such a way that the whole platform can just be purchased in its entirety is a non-starter. No matter how good of an actor the organization is currently it is only a matter of time until they aren't or sell to someone who isn't a good actor. The only solution is to function in such a way that purchasing the platform is impossible.

I don’t know how to feel about the #Bandcamp situation. It certainly doesn’t decrease my disdain for Epic Games, and I’m disgusted by Songtradr’s stance of “supporting the band camp community is our top priority but let’s fire half the staff.”

But what’s the alternative? Isn’t it the only well-known music platform that doesn’t screw over musicians? Are there other places where I can launch a vinyl release for no upfront cost? Control my pricing?

Musicians need to take back this industry. how?
