In Norway, while recording a broadcast, a huge fish crashed into the journalist’s face

A video has gone viral on social networks in which a correspondent from a Norwegian TV channel talks about the strongest storm in the country in the last 30 years.

After a sudden meeting with a fish, the journalist lost his footing and fell, after which he was covered by a wave.

What happened only amused him.

I went to a keyboard meetup a couple of years ago and brought a bunch of the fam with me.

Then I went to a different meetup all the way in DC and brought a bunch of the fam with me PLUS lots of others did. Huge pile of keyboards on the table.

Some day I should bust out the whole collection and lay it out. I'd need a much larger table though haha

same table later, some keyboards have changed around. there’s a large plush mx switch and keycap and a couple of beverage bottles.

comically, the way to enable "true color" support in neovim is apparently to set your TERM to a -256color variant. So all of those shenanigans I did with termcap dbs and setting TERM and such to get emacs to work with tmux-24bit, etc... yea just throwing that away.

Has anyone at any of the streaming services done any piracy lately? Do they realize what they’re competing against? And that shoving ads into people’s faces is just going to push them to piracy?

It’s so trivial and such a great experience. I download a file, add it to my torrent client, and a little while later I just boop and watch it on my tv, phone, iPad, laptop, fridge, whatever.

No ads.

@dantleech yea the fact that I can use my UI of choice is also really nice.

And honestly Plex is so good. Like it even has the friggin theme song playing in the background when I’m browsing a series. And all it is is a folder full of video files haha

But sure let’s put some more ads in haha

@dantleech I was the weird kid who had the TI-92 instead of the 83 so it was like I had a mini laptop on me.

I never made the leap from writing (terrible) BASIC to writing asm programs for it even though it fully supported that. I did have some fun asm programs I could load up on it though!

Hey what are your favorite n95/kn95 masks? I’ve been just using surgical masks in places where I needed a mask but now that I’m a chemo patient I definitely want to make sure I get as strong of filtering as I can get.

Comfort is the most important criteria.

One thing I hate about mastodon not having full text search only hashtags is the proliferation of instagram style “5000 hashtags on every post”.

Really wish hashtags could be metadata rather than in-post so they could still be searched but at least not shit up the actual content
