@jynersolives Cool, thanks for the advice. I haven't tried Nord VPN yet. My old VPN just stopped working about 3 years ago specifically for BBC iPlayer.

@jynersolives I've not been able to get BBC iPlayer to work with a VPN for years now so I'm not sure that's going to work, I think they don't allow it now. But I could just be inept.

I 100% relate to the Orville Peck song cover of 'Smalltown Boy'. In a way, it mirrored my own experience in a small city; Misunderstood, bullied, I didn't cry after a while of this happening. I looked at others with dead and unaffected eyes, my face resembled a burial mask giving nothing away.

On the inside, there was an emotional storm...A teen boy trying to find out how to become a person in the eyes of others. I like to think I found the answer, like he did.

The BBC notes that it doesn't cover politics while the polls are open...yet still has a live feed for the local elections while polls are open. The BBC feels the need for a live feed for everything, it's bonkers. A live feed to explain why there's nothing in this live feed.

Since I've only been on here a week I'm posting a 2nd ...I'm Bryan (duh) in , almost 50 (embracing it), cat dad (my baby's turning 5 in June), here for some content, maybe some music (I'm a and fanatic), movies (keen on right now), some real talk about ME / , / / , and I might talk about working out and cooking (because no one's ever done that online). I can't reasonably boycott entirely because it's a 25-minute walk each way to a grocery store not owned by them (though I will make special trips to Farm Boy for produce now). So I'm glad to see the Reddit boycott acknowledges that there are other measures to take for those of us who can't easily shop around, because the Loblaw Corp has squeezed out every single independent grocer around. (I still miss Boushey's...)

It's not much yet, but this is one end of my balcony garden, 2024 edition.

Elsewhere (I have an unusually long balcony) I have some buckets with annuals plus various herbs (basil, parsley, rosemary, chives).

My thing is that every year I buy two perennials so gradually I reduce the number of annuals plus more plants indoors over the winter.

For flowers, I'm only doing the colours red/pink, white, and green this year... very Welsh of me, or perhaps Bulgarian.

PSA: It's no consolation for anyone to hear "I can relate to you because I used to be like you but I'm fine now." It is possible to be sympathetic without comparing someone else's life to your own.

I often think of this line from Pooh (that I actually first read in the frontispiece of Armistead Maupin's Sure Of You). Mostly, people just want to feel like they're not alone.

Be kind to one another. I'm going to try just posting and boosting cat photos for a bit.

Okay, here's the new tattoo. I know, it means nothing to anyone but me and my German friend, since it's a frame from a postcard he sent me. This is the last frame; he falls down, he gets up, he adjusts his crown and moves on. (Weitergehen is German for "move on".)
