the women's college basketball finals today will get north of 14 million viewers... but will still not be aired in a primetime viewing slot.

One of the most watched sports events of the past decade! More than NBA finals. More than MLB world series. More than NHL Stanley cup finals. And they can't get a primetime slot?

This didn't just suddenly happen. The audience has been building for years. Last year was a huge indicator.

@mekkaokereke FWIW I hate the time slot for the men's final (9:20pm ET on Monday) . The women's final (3pm ET on Sunday) is much better situated, IMO.

Of course, this is just the perspective of someone in the eastern time zone. Someone out west is probably thinking the opposite of me.

Like any large institution with big sports programs, there are a significant number of people there that don't care at all about #collegesports and even dislike #cfb.

Michigan OL Zak Zinter suffered a broken tibia & fibula in the win against Ohio State, per his mother, who shared the news via a public social media post.

Zinter is heading into surgery tonight, and the family is asking for prayers.
