@homelessjun @ai6yr @cvvhrn Rabbit used to be poor-people food in Europe.

Fattening up a rabbit is much easier and cheaper than a goat or even a cow. So lots of people had a rabbit hutch behind the house. Mostly working class or lower middle class, who couldn't be too picky about what they ate.

We see them primarily as pets these days, but that's our privilege showing. Hopefully we can keep them as pets even with the coming climate disasters.

Broke the rest of my tire levers on Tire #2 from the rims-from-he-double-toothpicks. Now, do I cry "uncle" and see if the LBS will mount this tire for me. 🤔 (Updated: Going to buy some Park TL-5 METAL tire levers next!) #BikeTooter #cycling

@ai6yr If you have to go there to buy new levers, you might as well get them to do the hard work for you.

Bike shops in Sweden don't use levers. They have a machine that puts on and takes off tires. Do American bike shops have that too?

I just published my first #Wix site today. I have limited experience with similar site builder services like Square Space and Weebly.

Is Wix typical of these kind of tools? I found it to be extremely difficult to use. On the plus side it almost gave me every ability I could produce as an actual developer... almost.

Less would have been more in the case of Wix. Just because you can stuff every possible feature into a Web based WYSIWYG builder doesn't mean you should.

It made it really hard to produce a simple and elegant site that is really what's needed by most people using such a service. If you truly have a need for the advanced features, trying to do those through multiple layers of nested menus is the worst way to do it. You might as well as hire a developer and do it the right way.

This site coulda been an email. Instead it was an insane toothpick tower that kept exploding on me b/c nothing played nicely with anything.

@sysop408 My business site is on SquareSpace. It's not hard to use at all. OTOH I'm no longer using the ecommerce features, so I'm thinking of moving to Wordpress, because it would be free. https://Valleyoakpaper.com

My portfolio site is on Pixel Together. It's really just a brochure site, but for that it was super easy. It gives me more control over individual pixels than SquareSpace.

Two things today:

  1. A coworker is out with Covid. I worked with her last week while she was sneezing & had a runny nose. But I had my N95 on, & was also airing the house out so I did not get sick.
    (Always air out your vacation rental for at least an hour, folks)
