Today I received an irresistible offer.

A publisher claims to have staff writers to write a book for me, and because I am an unknown author, they will also market the book I did not write for me. All I have to do is loan them my name and suggest a topic.

I smell .

I have the perfect face for radio interviews: about to chat with Rick Zamperin of CHML in about property values and .

My recent study with John Merrall and @higgicd about housing prices and proximity to schools is out in this week (open access).

https://doi.org/10.1111/gean.12377

Key finding: spatial analysis reveals value of proximity to schools, with 7.29% decrease on average for each km to the elementary school in the catchment.

Church membership in the US plunged in the last 20 years.

It turns out that most Americans are not ok with Christofascism.

This is by far the must ridiculous attempt to persuade workers to sacrifice their quality of life to improve the lot of wealthy commercial real estate land lords.

Next, show us what billionaires will look like in 2100, according to research.

New article with Elise Desjardins, Jason Lam, @geodarcy, Damian Collins, and Owen Waygood on how is framed in Ontario, Canada.

Frames provide organizing principles and stories for understanding phenomena, and they can modify the alternatives that the public is willing or able to contemplate to tackle issues.

A day like today, seven years ago, we woke up to the horrible news that the US had gone out of its goddamn racist mind, and had elected a buffoon with a pompadour to exorcise the Black man who had dared to be president.

It was a very depressing way to start the day. So I decided that Luanna, my daughter with her magical ways, could stay home from school. Instead, we went out in search of marvellous activities.

Measuring for multiple modes but confused how to interpret differences between zonal values? Well, consider using multimodal spatial availability! A singly-constrained competitive accessibility measure extended for the multimodal case.

If America seems "polarized" it is because the GOP is now a fascist party. Polarization is good when you are confronted by fascists. No fascists would be better, and likely to reduce polarization.

Today I cancelled all my subscriptions and deleted my account with extreme prejudice.

I have been a paid supporter of Heather Cox Richardson and @parkermolloy in the past, and was considering becoming a paid subscriber of @jaykuo, but for the stuff in that platform.

I will consider supporting authors whose opinions I value again when they are in a platform that does not equate with free speech.

Once upon a time, I had an Evangelical relative.

They are still and we are still related, but I ceased all contact with them after one last attempt to preach the Prosperity Gospel to me — including the argument that it is incumbent upon the churches to feed the hungry and shelter the poor.
