Things people say when they don't understand what fascism is. And this one I believe is actually honestly against fascism. They just don't know anything they didn't "learn" on social media or YouTube.
These people are the same ones that allowed the Brown Shirts and the Nazis to win in 1922 and 1932.
Have you read "On Tyranny" and about Project 2025? It might be that most well-off people will be fine, and it'll only be the vulnerable that suffer, but I definitely don't think that that's certain.

As we're probably making final decisions for my dad very soon i have to admit, I'm not crazy about having to navigate all my parents' Trumper friends and family. I'm not going to say anything to anyone here because this is about helping my parents and I'm grateful for all the help we can get.
But it makes me sick knowing a few of these people would spit on my non binary child's hospital bed before they'd offer the child the support they're offering my mom and dad.
Hopefully, my dad will recover. At least some. But it's a dark hour.
And if he passes I'll have to navigate the memorial service where most of the family attending will be people I told were dead to me because of their support for Trump.
I'm actually pretty nervous about this potentiality. I mean, his memorial service should be about him.

I can and am wrong about things though I try hard to be clear when I'm speculating.
I can be and sometimes am a troll though I'm not proud of this.
But it's interesting that this apparently fake account targeted me for saying the #GOP is #fascist accusing me of "all the hallmarks of a disinformation troll."
@philip_cardella One account started replying to every one of my EV/energy posts with disinformation. I finally blocked it after a week and then got a dog pile of replies from the same instance right after. Now I blocked the whole instance. Sucks.
@TonyStark This guy lives on a fairly busy street less than 2 miles from my house. He's so oppressed.
We can and SHOULD hold Biden to a high standard. In fact, he tells us he wants us to! Worst case scenario he feels like that's what he's supposed to say--great! But I honestly believes he means it, even if he doesn't like it.
I knew my hometown, a fairly liberal place in a relatively liberal state of California and the state capital, had a #sheriff sharing out-of-state license plate data.
It's almost impossible to control sheriffs in most states because they are elected and answer to no one.
It's something that #MikeJohnson finally let the #Ukraine aid go through and all but you have to wonder if he waited until he knew Russia had the opening it needed.

@philip_cardella yeah that sucks. Been there, though the details always differ. It's terrible, bc the ordinary conventions of small talk conspire to remind you how much everything sucks right then. You're just getting drilled over and over with it. It really fucking blows and I'm sorry that's how it is for you right now
@colo_lee I'm just saying it's really interesting how many people think they're good at something over here, which means they're good at everything, even things way over there.

#Democrats and #Progressives, it doesn't matter that #Trump would be worse for the housing crisis. People who have lost or are desperate to not lose the roof over their head aren't thinking about national politics much.
You might think, "how can they think the economy would be better under Trump?"
But they're thinking, "Nothing is working. The Democrats are all talk. I'm desperate. How can it be worse?"
You may think you know how it can be worse. I may think so. But we're not them.
Democrats MUST start offering real solutions to the housing crisis. Miami is the worst city in America but folks, it's getting bad everywhere and IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE THIS WAY.
