I firmly believe that everyone should be entitled to the domain corresponding to their personal name, with their residency's country code as TLD.

For example, if Emmanuel Macron possesses angela-merkel.de, then the actual Angela Merkel would have the right to buy it from him. However, she would not be entitled to angela-merkel.fr.

If there are several Angela Merkels from Germany, then those who did not get to buy “their” common domain would be entitled to a compensation from the actual buyer.

Stop criticising the #CCC for their privacy rules at #37C3!

If you don't like CCTV and face recognition, just stay the fuck at home. You're just a tiny fraction anyway, so why should the vast majority care about you? No one likes you.

There's no evidence that a lack of security cameras improves anyone's privacy. In fact, telling those who have something to hide (almost no one has) that there won't be CCTV will give them a false sense of privacy, considering everyone has a smartphone nowadays.

I'm very disappointed to see that the German documentary channel #Simplicissimus on YouTube acknowledges russia's illegal annexion of #Crimea.

This is a clear signal undermining #Ukraine's independence, aiding the #kremlin in its effort to make our society accept #russia's continued aggression against Eastern Europe as normal.

A few frames later: The map has shifted to the north east and now shows russia, also with her borders coloured green. Now, Crimea is included by russia's alleged borders, but there is no note reading something like “occupied territory”. It looks just as if it was a regular part of the russian territory.

I'm currently playing around with a couple new #Mifare NFC tags I bought. The only bad thing is that NFC is not really supported by /e/ OS on the #Fairphone 3 and the Samsung #S5.

Does #NFC work on any other device running #eOS?

I start to believe that #Prigozhin never wanted to actually reach #moscow and the #kremlin, but instead sought a way of withdrawing from #russia's war against #Ukraine.

You see, he has been criticising the russian military strategy and logistics for months now, and he has even called the invasion's initial justification outright nonsense.

He has probably realised that continuing to fight for #putin would only cause more #Wagner deaths and that it would be financially stupid.

Honestly, I like the emojis of #ThreemaLibre (left) much better than those of the regular #Threema app (right).

The emojis in the normal Threema version are three-dimensional, i.e. with shadow effects. This looks old-fashioned because it is reminiscent of the design of the first iPhones, which is now a few days ago.

In case you haven't heard: In the German town of #Sonneberg, citizens have elected a right-wing extremist district administrator. This is the first time in history that the fascist #AfD party, which calls itself an “Alternative for Germany”, won that type of local elections.

The town is located in the Federal State of #Thuringia, which had been part of the “German Democratic Republic” – a.k.a. the Soviet occupation zone of #Germany – between 1945 and 1990.

If you use an #adBlocker and have noticed that some websites don't work correctly, here's a suggestion that may help:

Disable the DuckDuckGo #TrackerRadar blocklist compiled by #Blokada, as it contains many false positives, i.e. domains wrongly classified as serving ads or trackers.

The reason I had been unable to determine the root cause for a long time was that Firefox only said “connection refused”, due to @tblock modifying the Hosts file.
