I am a woodturning artist living in Nova Scotia, Canada with my wife, border collie and our 3 Cornish Rex cats. I was born in the UK and lived in France before arriving on these shores 25+ years ago. I have demonstrated and taught all over Canada, the USA, and New Zealand and teach privately in my workshop in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. I hate winter.
I have been a professional product and performance photographer.

Golden Monkey Tea

In my regular tea order (Sencha, Pu-Erh + white teas) I usually get sent a sample I have never tasted.

While I wait for my sourdough whole grain flatbreads to bake, I decided to try this variety I was sent.

I am no tea connaisseur, but this has a lovely mild taste, beautifully sweet and delicate in the first (western style) brew. The tea in the pot is the second brew.

So … my ex-wife (who used to be vegan with me but got redpilled in 2020) is now teaching our 12 year old how to cook meat

That’s a bummer

I don’t have any family or friends now who are vegan, which is also a bummer

If you got one, I could use a good pep talk right now, vegan folks :sadness:

It is the right thing to do, isn’t it? I’m not the one who’s wrong?

Hi Peter, you are definately not wrong!
Swimming against the tide is not an easy thing to do, in one way or another I've been doing it all my life so understand how you must be feeling. Apart from my wife Ellie we don't have vegan friends either but I know we are right not to be a party to inflicting suffering to animals.

The health benefits too are not to be ignored! I'm 67 years old and have spent most of my life very overweight.I got rid of over 100lbs so I've greatly increased my potential lifespan, on top of it. And feel better for it in every way.

@danmccullough @EllieK great story, Dan. I still have mix tapes from years ago and still play them, I was never a buyer of prerecorded tapes though, the quality wasn't up to much! I really enjoy physical music and have a big collection from many years of collecting CDs, vinyl and tape .

I’m probably going to be offline and not online too much.
Just sick with the random virus, the lateral flow test says I have been negative for Covid twice. So not trying to tax my energy. Going into powersave mode.

This is not a great photo, but was a great occasion. After 15 months of being in the same house, this is the first time we've ever seen one of the other two cats share a bed with Zaz.
Badger (another Cornish Rex cat) is in the front, with Zaz looking surprised in the background. A real breakthrough.

Torties can have such a variety of colors and hues. Sometimes she looks quite ordinary - dark brown with some lighter patches. But when she’s in the sun, well it’s amazing technicolor dreamcoat time. Happy .

@richardinsandy @EllieK Pigeon on a Gate is one of my favorite tunes that I learned from Oscar Woods. I taught Chris the tune repeating it dozens of times until he got it . That was way back in the seventies, a wonderful time for traditional music. I'm a melodeon player and spent many nights playing tunes with Oscar in pubs in Suffolk. Chris and I lived in the same house for a period of time so I'm very familiar with his music. ...1/2
