I just asked Siri to turn off the lights in the laundry room, and Siri turned off the lights in my office. I could understand confusing laundry room for living room or something, but the "office" is named just office and has no "room" in it. This has been happening for months now and I don't get why it's still not fixed. I'm nervous for iOS 18's potential to introduce even more HomeKit bugs.

Voice commands have issues with discovery. I still don't know what I could say to my bulbs. I can select color via GUI but Siri can't set it via voice. Maybe would help here a bit... or cause mayhem in smart home. We need to wait for iOS 18 😅 (2/2)

@julipuli constantly played song Chandalier when I said "Siri, turn on chandalier".
I wonder how many plays on this song are from frustrated users.
Anyway I found workaround.
I now say "Siri, set chandalier to 100%" and win rate is much higher. (1/2)

I have decided to finally learn .

On our most recent visit to the family in Egypt I just became painfully aware that I’m the only person on the family who doesn’t speak Arabic (though our youngest child only speaks fairly little Arabic he understands a lot more, and the older one speaks it fluently), and that’s just really annoying.

Let’s see how this is gonna do for me.

It's just talking to people in their language helps to explain things.
Imagine asking some random grandma on street "Do you prefer Ubuntu or Arch?".
Probable scenario how she would react is easy to guess.

There is just a much bigger chance that "average viewer" heard at least once.

I want to also setup a Hypervisor for my

Maybe I'm overthinking here a lot... but I try to hold down the electricity cost as much as possible.

At the moment the is at roughly ~35W

Would you guys/gals add a machine or would you rather not?

@jhx Depends what setup you have currently.
If you use „standard” OS, you can try changing it to Proxmox for example.
In this way you still have one machine and low power usage and can run VMs.

@jhx Great! Usually better is to write what you currently have and what you want to accomplish (current problems and how you want to solve them).
Then executing plan is usually fast and easy👌😎

This reminds me, I should also update my docs and share on website.
Maybe it will inspire others and also maybe someone will be able to suggest me better solutions than I have now 🤔
