There's a new kid on the block - and there's no punches being pulled here either - I would love if some of the folks could weigh in here with their thoughts about the developer's observations...

https://flak.tedunangst.com/post/azorius-01

Maybe some of our friends such as @mauve , @silverpill , @smallcircles , or
@helge could offer some observations?

I wonder, considering the rapid explosion of development in our , how much was born of frustration or disdain?

@tallship @mauve @silverpill @smallcircles @helge Super interesting (I like opinionated, in principle) let's see where this goes!

Also, I'd like to see a paragraph on "why not kbin?"

@tallship That's awesome! The groups thing in particular is something I want to explore more in my own ap work 😍

As it was, as it should be, and as it still is.

@MitchW

Okay I have to apologize before doing this, lolz. I won't actually beat the drum again with that particular joke you mentioned, but this little ditty is indeed about guylands.... 😜

All in good fun, enjoy!

I've seen this on four social networks in the now in just over a week - , , , and /XMPP. These memes are going around, but what about those privacy disrespecting, deprecated legacy silos like , , and or - Why is it that we're preaching to the choir instead of to the sinners of the ?

Go forth, save those poor souls over on the silos, Tell them that they're pork bellies. Muahahaha!

transigence,

@tallship At no point have they ever been trustworthy. This is what you get for letting Google hold your eggs.

@transigence

I'm so fricking going to quote you on that :)

> Run your own Nextcloud box or pay for your own Nextcloud service.

Or was I also quoting myself from several past rants?

Regardless - Sound advice - take back the ownership of your privacy and data people!

And wrt Google?

No it isn't lolz... what a crock of shit.

Here's what, wrt truth in advertising, it should say:

SDF Social - Fediverse hosted on social.sdf.org SDF Social is a private Fediverse instance [running mastofoshizzles] for members of the SDF Public Access UNIX System

Yeah, mastopub is not a network! It's just one kind of (deprecated, monolithic silo oriented) platform

To die in a ditch, alone, bleeding and bludgeoned - a demise where no hand of another is found to hold yours at the very end.

And yet, as silently as the passsed, without any fanfare, it is celebrated by most Fedizens - with Burgers 🍔 and beers 🍻 🍺 .

To die the death of such a loser without notice is comical - and even though the news has travelled slow, it reverberates through the without sympathy from anyone:

I was playing with this, it's simple enough to install - NOTE: it needs PAM, so that's a definite minus, but they say they're working on that (We'll see).

Also, it's certainly not ready for prime time now; most common use cases aren't supported - there's no fine grained control that it is typically used for: Per user, per command, per host defaults, etc.

If all you're doing is shielding yourself from borking your system, then it works ok.

Paradise!

Where peach pies are cobblers and fragile means fragmented.

College Station, Texas is one of the first two towns that the Amazon pilot (no pun intended) is being tested out.

Just the sheer thrust shot that package off the sidewalk well into the lawn, a few steps away from the public sidewalk and nowhere near the customer's porch.

Has anyone considered dropping these packages in people's backyards instead?

The port of Los Angeles, from the turret of one of the gun emplacements that defended Southern California during the Battle of San Pedro, repelling an attack from a Japanese submarine... that might not have actually happened, lolz.

Regardless, it woke up everyone in Los Angeles when the army unleashed batteries of battleship sized guns and commenced with hellfire into the ocean.

Most likely? There was a submarine, but only for recon to determine L.A. was too fortified to suicide attack.
