I'm a bit intrigued by the Italian-made Seabike concept. Seems like an obvious thing in retrospect so curious why there haven't been things like it before.

@Migueldeicaza@krzyzanowskim@heckj The thing is… I just haven’t suffered that many cases like you describe. Sure! Some, but I honestly had a pretty good grasp on GCD. Crashes are rare and far between. So spending all this time adopting SC is not productive. Let alone fun. 🤷🏻♂️
@Migueldeicaza@krzyzanowskim@heckj Yeah, right. 🙄 I love your work, and I think it’s more complex than the average iOS app. While SC will help you conquer those daemons, I think it’s overkill for most apps. I dunno… I must be old school, but I sure feel more comfortable with GCD.
Mac tip: say you want to annotate a graphic and save it as PDF/PNG/JPEG.
locate the graphic and copy it (e.g. in Safari, right-click and select Copy Image.)
open Preview (Applications folder)
create a new document (Command-N)
Preview will automatically open a window with your graphic. Now you can select the tool you want from the toolbar and annotate it as needed (i.e. arrows, bubbles, text, etc.)
Finally, select File > Export… and choose your preferred format… and voilà!

One thing I still don’t get about Mastodon (and perhaps the Fediverse): search feels either broken or undercooked. Either way, the experience is subpar. I can tap on some users’ followers and it works as expected. Other users, nothing. This happens in all clients I have installed. Searching for toots that I know contain a certain value (e.g. iOS 17) come back empty. The experience is pretty bad, I assume even worse for newcomers. Why is that? 🤔
I finally got around deploying my #vapor app to fly.io and it was pretty darn easy. Kudos to @mikaelacaron for her presentation on YouTube. That helped quite a bit. @rodhilton I solved the same problem going to Home Depot, lumber department and find solid, from the discarded wood bin. I ask them if they could cut a thick-enough cube (3 in/ 10 cm if I recall). Didn’t want to charge me anything. I use it as extra support and works like a charm.
@rodhilton Underneath. Completely hidden from view. It provides a solid anchor, I have a 32” display and does not move at all. We use the same method at work and it’s 👍🏻
September 16, 2022. At 7:45h, I would make sure my son Javier would be under surveillance at Stanford’s ER. Perhaps then he would have had a chance to make it through.
