Miss me with your newly-developed concern and accompanying hand-wringing about how long covid is a major problem even among those who seemed healthy.

Yes. You're finally telling the truth.

But even if you got down off your high-horse and apologized for saying that anyone questioning the protection T-cells would provide was a crank AND you started demonstrating and advocating for mask*-wearing, being this late is unconscionable. You've proven yourself untrustworthy and done far too much damage for anyone to platform or listen to you again.

This 2006 study is what's being misconstrued and it's much more complex than "ten infections and they were all dead" ⤵️

When authorities decided to downplay the most contagious pathogen ever and the most severe pandemic threat in a hundred years, it was inevitable that they'd have to take that same position on all future pathogens and pandemic threats. Humanity is suffering for taking an absolutely irresponsible position and not being able to climb down from it. We will continue to suffer until we do.

a) What measurements/metrics can be useful to self-track/identify what's causing fatigue? (E.g., O2sat, BP, HR, EKG, BG)

b) What can MDs look for beyond standard 'surface-y' tests that may get at the root cause?

Most studies found that face are beneficial against viral respiratory infections, such as -19

Mask efficacy depends on the material, layers, fitting on the face, and user compliance

respirators had maximum efficacy, especially when used continuously

I think we'd best have a conversation about mask efficacy in the context of time-to-infection, viral load and other highly-speculative estimations that have been proffered over the course of the pandemic thus far.

You cannot build a rock-solid scientific model on top of such things.

We're not suffering from funding, staffing, structural, or service delivery issues. Use all the money, incentives, reorganization, or metrics bandages you want, but if we keep infecting everyone with a neuroinvasive pathogen that causes vascular disease and long-term health issues, healthcare for the masses will cease to exist -- just when we need it the most.
