Getting another #mentalHealth record for an ancestor, and looking again at this family photo from #Melrose, and seeing if I can spot the relative I've been learning more about today. Can definitely see my great granddad and his brother (both beadles / church officers at Melrose parish, in turn). And their widowed mum, and two sisters (it was a family of 9). Also possibly my great granny. #Genealogy#FamilyHistory#ScottishBorders#Scotland#Dingleton#DingletonHospital#Photography#FamilyPhotos
Shock horror! My husband’s going to cut our #grass! Last cut at the very end of May. Actually that was the only other time it got cut this year 😜 #NoMowSummer#gardening#lawns#rewilding
@RogerBW we called into a Border reivers weapons and armoury museum on our drive back! Then dinner in a hotel in Melrose where we were staying. Back home to Fife the next day. Yours sounds brill too :)
Forgot to say I’m a long-term #DoctorWho fan, since watching the first episode of The Ribos Operation in 1978 at a very young age. Favourite Doctor #DavidTennant then #TomBaker and #PaulMcGann (thanks #BigFinish for that last). Favourite companion #SarahJaneSmith. Favourite Classic Who story City of Death, and favourite New Who The Empty Child. I’m not a huge #scifi fan, not keen on hard scifi. But as a #storytelling engine Who works brilliantly. Historian me loves the #timeTravel. #introduction
Still very ill #neuro with another #flare, but trying to see more #Cymera writing festival videos while they're still online, saving #SHARP23#bookHistory conference for catchup in July or August (videos online till 31 Aug!), and hoping awake tomorrow or Friday a little bit to see some #StAndrews book conference talks. Though many #academic#conferences have reverted to face to face this largely bedbound academic is hugely grateful for those still offering #streaming. #accessibility#academia
@dekkzz76 Sadly many in my field are face to face now only. A smaller number of others stream but only live, and I sleep through so much unpredictably due to my brain disease now. But I am very lucky with some this summer. SHARP last year wasn't great for streaming and catchup, but this year it's fantastic. I will also have the Tolkien Society Oxonmoot event to enjoy online in the autumn (I will watch on catchup over subsequent months).
Incidentally if any fans of original 1989 TV Woman in Black that terrified a generation want to get a Blu ray copy buy it now while you still can. Released by Network who have gone into liquidation. Copies still available via Amazon and elsewhere but once they sell out that's it. This was a stellar horror TV version, and Blu Ray is fab. It's also available on DVD which will also go out of stock once sold. #TV#80sTV#Horror#SusanHill#WomanInBlack#DVD#BluRay#Network#NetworkDVD#NigelKneale
@jmac beware the DVD/BluRay 1988 TV version release might be formatted just for UK/Europe region players. I’ve seen some people in North America unable to play it even in multi region Blu ray players. However there is another filmed version of the story you should easily be able to get hold of via streaming or disc. Hammer films made a movie version starring Daniel Radcliffe (yes Harry Potter!). Which is pretty good.
@jmac well they did until today but I think Network might have bought them recently, and Network have just gone into liquidation. So erm … There have been quite a few new films in the last couple of decades released b6 the new incarnation of Hammer.

@felicitymartin sharing your love of books and Border collies! My Borders family has a strong history of shepherds with working collies and a farmer gg-uncle who was a sheep dog trials judge and collie breeder :)
