In my day there were areas with no signal at all. We called 'em "dead zones" but tell the truth, they's where folk could breathe a long-lost breath.

When you include links on your Mastodon posts, or boost such posts, thumbnails are now attached. These thumbnails do not obey a user's choice to hide all images behind CWs.

If you're sharing a link about a distressing subject, this may well mean that disturbing images will be appearing in the timelines of your followers and your fellow server people.

Please keep all of this in mind when choosing whether or not to CW your posts, or if you should boost a post.

    @ianbetteridge I've seen this before and it bears a rewatch but you know what strikes me this time?

    That they didn't have a problem to solve. They couldn't seem to explain why they had been working on this. That's why they seemed to be grasping at straws as to what to do with it. This on the week that Microsoft is looking to build their own nuclear reactors to power their language models they call "AI", which nobody really wants. Because it is a solution looking for a problem.
