are the only terrorist organization I'm aware of that can both emulate ISIS and get people from ivy league universities to chant parts of their charter.

yoavlavi,

Remember - "From the river to the sea" originates in the first PLO charter which also had gems like:

"Judaism, being a religion, is not an independent nationality. Nor do Jews constitute a single nation with an identity of its own; they are citizens of the states to which they belong."

i.e. forced relocation of millions of people and erasing their ethnicity and history.

yoavlavi,

also has this in their charter, along with:

"The Covenant proclaims that Israel will exist until Islam obliterates it, and jihad against Jews is required until Judgement Day"

"The Day of Judgment will not come until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say, 'O Muslim, O servant of God, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.' Only the Gharkad tree would not do that, because it is one of the trees of the Jews."

yoavlavi,

So on their end it's just a part of a larger intended genocide.

Despite some people trying to dress this up as a message of peace and freedom from oppression, that's very much not the case.

I feel I am forever missing GitHub notifications. Like, they happen and I just... never see them. It's a source of guilt!

yoavlavi,

@isntitvacant If you use Slack - setting up GH to notify you in Slack for important things is really useful

Mastodon - Need ideas for a headless Raspberry Pi 4 B (8GB), Running Raspberry Pi OS light (no desktop) 64bit, headless, connected to a router (600/100 connection at the moment), has and (wanted to go with NixOS but didn't have a ton of time to make the headless install work, will retry it at some point).

In the past this Pi was used for DNS blocking and Nextcloud but since I'm using NextDNS I don't currently need the former.

The core of our platform, a GraphQL engine that derives its functionality directly from SDL and is written in Rust, is now open source!

What do you use for merges? I've recently transitioned from to and still use VSCode for merging but would like to know if there's something dedicated. Wondering if there something terminal based.

Meld on macOS seems nice but isn't really a first class citizen when installed via (shows Linux UI and no icon), FileMerge seems a bit too basic

yoavlavi,

Thanks! Looks good, although my preference isnfor something open source if I can find it. If not I may give this a try!

Dear , please use someone besides PayPal for payment, they are a morally bankrupt company that stole money from me and closed my account for no reason. I would love to give you money, but not through PayPal.

If you ignore what they're supposed to mean (in some cases), Unicode has a lot of symbols that could probably be used more in in place of emoji (which can't be styled)

(Caveat, this probably isn't great for accessibility, so have an option to turn it off)

    ⛁ - database
    ⛘ - SD card
    ⛶ - screenshot
    🜽 - pipeline
    🜛 - ubuntu
    🄰,🄱,🄲 / ➀,➁,➂- option selction (interactive)
    𝕏 - dumpster fire
    ㎑,㎒,㎓ - Units
    ♳,♴,♵ - retry count
    ⛖ - network
    ␀ - null
    ⩉ - link
    ⦷ - pause / paused
    ⦿ - record / recording

    yoavlavi,

@matt Yeah that was my assumption.

As a person that uses screen readers, would you prefer that CLIs not use unicode symbols at all or just allow to turn them off using a setting or flag?

They have design / aesthetic/ friendlyness value for sighted people (IMO) but that's not more important than allowing everyone to use the given tool

    yoavlavi,

@matt I meant specifically if they're used for visual purposes only (with a different meaning than intended), but using them at all / screen reader compatibility with unicode is a good point.

If a CLI uses a symbol that happens to look like the Ubuntu logo for instance for visualization purposes but allows it to be removed or swapped for text using a config or flag, is that something you'd personally prefer not to be there to begin with or does it not matter as long as you can turn it off?

    yoavlavi,

@matt I'm assuming the same could also be used by people that have a hard time connecting pictographs to meaning

    Perhaps

NO_VISUAL - the user does not directly interface with the command line via sight but by other means (like NO_COLOR), do not use signaling or elements that can only be accessed visually

I hope this isn't unkind, but I like to think about John Saxon and Micheal Ironside as if they are sort of another Mario/Wario pairing.

    Micheal Ironside

I always thought Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon looked very similar.

My first watch of "The Departed" was very confusing.

Started implementing a based language similar to Emmet, but for JSON, TOML and YAML (and potentially )

The idea being that you write a quick one-line selector that expands to the correct syntax.

The current syntax isn't final, but basic functionality works nicely!

Thoughts on Kagi (https://kagi.com) from a perspective? (also just general thoughts)

Currently other than the fact that it can't be a default search engine in iOS without extensions it seems pretty good (especially with personal ranking of websites)

    yoavlavi, to NixOS

People who publicly display their / configurations, isn't that a sort of security risk? (by knowing how you're configured one can use more targeted and efficient attacks). Of course security by obscurity isn't security etc., but still feels a bit exposed.

sup. is an open source encrypted fediverse instant messenger, similar to whatsapp, made by pixelfed.

The beta will be launching later this month, and btw most fediverse accounts will work, not just Pixelfed 😉

    yoavlavi,

@dansup Encrypted as in end to end? What sort of knowledge does the server have about conversations (metadata, people etc.)? What's the planned privacy policy?

    Im general sounds very cool!

Does anyone know of a way to flag all of the modules that aren't used (possibly per feature) in a project?

Needed for a cleanup effort. Thanks!
