Cinner

@Cinner@kbin.social
Cinner,

What was it? I know it wasn't really from reddit but I wanted to see what it said.

Cinner,

Idiots that make a whole lot more money from the data than the 42k they're paying.

Cinner,

I disagree with defederation when it's due to non-illegal discussion, but I feel Lemmy (and kbin) should have more sane defaults. In a perfect world, no one would defederate but there would only be a whitelist of federated defaults on the main page for each instance so you have to actively go looking for the content in order to see it.

Cinner,

Nope. When government workers do it they only allow them to do it for short stints, mandatory counseling, and then they're done. Referring to specifically reviewing CP-and similar related cases, but there is plenty of that being shared on Facebook. We don't see it because it's reported and the paid moderators dispose of it quickly.

Cinner,

I love comments like this for the blatant lack of self-awareness that you're doing exactly what everyone else is.

While somehow finding a way to feel like you're better than.

Cinner,

I'm not the commenter but it seems fairly obvious what they're saying.

The child doesn't know that touching the hot stove will burn them, but you do because you have a lifetime of experience.

To add to this: To the child, it's essentially magic that you know exactly where the heat starts, and how you have the ability to boil water.

If you're saying it in a light-hearted 'lol kids are chaos' way then yeah.

Cinner,

I'm not sure where you live but I'm in the bible belt and almost every single Christian I've heard speak about the issue (people are very vocal about religion here) has said that abortion is murder and they do not approve of women having the ability to choose to end a life for any reason.

Cinner,

And it doesn't really matter if a cis man is "big on abortion" because these laws will never affect him and his body.

I'm pro-choice but I've heard this and many similar things said and it's such a ridiculous thing to say.

"It doesn't really matter what you think about inhumane treatment for XYZ medical condition because you're not a doctor and you don't have that condition"

"It doesn't matter what you think about banning this important subset of knowledge in K-12 education because you've already aged out"

Believe it or not, things can affect you even if they're not directly happening to you. People don't exist in a vacuum.

Disregarding someone's opinion has never once changed someone's opinion.

What's with all the NordVPN hate?

I see people say that NordVPN is a bad choice all the time, but I've never seen any credible evidence that they're not trustworthy. Can anyone provide any sources with valid reasons to avoid their service? I only know that they had some servers hacked in 2018, but it seems as though they took that very seriously and upgraded...

Cinner,

That's happened with almost every VPN provider that has claimed to be no-log and then got a government subpoena. At that point you have 2 options: A.) Shut down, or B.) Code a technical way to capture the requested information for that user.

Sometimes they do choose to shut down and sometimes there isn't a technically feasible way to get the information.

Cinner,

Hmm, haven't heard of that distribution before.

Cinner,

I used to pirate games and software. Then came the ransomware, and the crypto stealers.

So I'm afraid of pirating certain things, but not because of the IP issues.

Cinner,

qBittorrent is what I've been using since uTorrent went to shit. Well there was a brief period where I used Transmission but it's so feature-limited.

Cinner,

If you don't understand why he's doing it then you've never done anything of value w/r/t community projects and your opinion belongs in the toxic wasteland with all the others.

Cinner,

The guy is trolling people. That's not how any of the LLMs write, AND what they do say when presented with a prompt of questionable ethics is "as an AI language model" not "as an AI language program."

No service uses the word program in that prompt response.

It shouldn't need to be said but people are daft so I'll say it anyway: I support the protests, hope reddit dies, and fuck spez.

But this isn't an AI bot.

Cinner,

I wouldn't expect him to lol. Every time I watch one of his videos, I'm reminded of one of The Onion News Network's greatest creations: The Autistic Reporter.

Note: Whether Rossman is on the spectrum (I assume so) I'm not throwing shade at all. He's a powerhouse.

OC I created a site that helps people search the fediverse (programmer2514.github.io)

I had been having trouble getting meaningful results from the fediverse on Google, and after seeing this post, it seems I'm not the only one. So, I created a site that helps search the fediverse in your search engine of choice (it currently supports Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Dogpile)....

We need to be able to differentiate between NSFW and porn.

A boob, a butt, or even some violence like one might see on the news anyway, I’m not freaked out about all that and I don’t feel the need to hide it from those around me usually… that’s all fine fine, but I don’t want porn on my feed like at all....

Cinner, (edited )

There needs to be a levels system instead of a letters system.

NSF(W)1: you wouldn't look at it in front of your boss in a corporate setting. Anything slightly risque in nature.

NSF(W)2: Written graphic text

NSF(W)3: Maybe a nip slip, or an African tribeswoman in native dress

NSF(W)4: Some intermediary step here

NSF(W)5: Nudes, porn, etc.

NSF(L)1: Fight footage with mild-medium violence

NSF(L)2: Death

NSF(L)3: Graphic death. Gore. Beheadings. Etc.

They don't even need to be in order, but there should be a classification system. Once the classification system is implemented, we can set classifications to view/not view in our settings.

Cinner,

They don't have any real terrorism to point to but they want to keep their jobs and the military industrial complex needs more trillions. Now they can point to this kid and say "Look! We stopped a terrorist plot!"

Cinner,

I foresee another great article..

Reddit CEO forces a number of subreddits to open, starting with 'copyright infringement' subreddit /r/Piracy and 'anti-capitalist' subreddit r/antiwork

Just keep digging spez. Maybe you'll make it to China and you can start WeQQit. Not to be confused with Wreqqit, which is what you're doing here.

Cinner,

I've seen you post a number of times here under different subs, and every comment you write is constructed in such a way that I can't tell if you're for or against u/spez.

I designate you Shrodinger's shitposter

Fuck Reddit

After years of using reddit, i finally deleted everything including my account there. Personally, i am not affected by the api prices, BUT, i couldn't live with me supporting people, who see their userbase, moderators and creators as nothing but noise. The point i'm making? Greetings Lemmy. I joined a few days ago and i'm here...

Cinner,

The issues will be fixed soon. This is a huge unexpected wave and the developers weren't exactly planning on hundreds of thousands of people migrating to their beta software overnight. But more people means more developers able to contribute to code fixes, so just keep being patient and it'll all work out. There is a kbin app in the works currently so your issues with mobile won't be issues long.

Cinner,

I believe they prefer the term femcel. But yeah, good God, talk about a sexist cesspool.

Cinner,

I'm sure it's just a massive influx of lurkers (and some users) along with not great server infra right now, but I'm dealing with 30s page loads and constant Cloudflare token refreshes. Still better than reddit.
