I just bolted the anchors from the cable system into some ceiling studs, and then attached the lights using their mounting clips + some zip ties. It was a temporary thing that just never got updated since it works well. I thought I might need to add weights at the bottom, but the leds are heavy enough on their own.
Wall has a bunch of screws put into the studs and then the net is just spread over them. I zip tied the net in a few spots to start if off, then just wrapped the netting around the screws to pull it tight.
I’ve started letting it climb onto the ceiling / off the net by using some thumb tacks, but I don’t think this is going to work. I’ll probably put a few screws in and then run some fishing line between them.
California had a partial eclipse of the sun. Charts here, taken from CAISO, show how renewables and batteries behaved during that: lots of moving power between different places to deal with a regional issue, along with batteries and some gas to make up the difference...
This time I’m using a slightly more complicated pattern, but tbh unfortunately not a pattern that I had to learn anew. For the lantern frame I’m using American Nutwood. At least that is what we call it here in Germany. I don’t know which kind of nut exactly that is. The color is brown, obviously. It also shimmers purple...

I make videos that are usually somewhere between 10-20mins long, and I know that video storage really adds up fast. My worry with things like this is that I basically can’t afford to donate as much as I would be costing. But maybe there’s some kind of relevant info on that somewhere that I just can’t immediately see. Definitely worth an investigate, at least!
There appears to have been a large and possibly record-setting number of temporary ER closures or service interruptions across the country in 2023 so far, with CTV News finding hundreds instances where a hospital emergency unit, usually in a rural community, has been shut down for hours or days to Canadians seeking emergency...

Thanks :) I briefly mentioned this in another comment: Measure thrice and plan in some slack. I measured thrice but didn’t plan in slack. Thus the frames where the littlest too large to fit into their places (~0.5mm) When forced in, the joints of the frame jumped open a little bit.

The ones that don't fit inside a Kallax cube - you should hear my guttural growl when the smaller side is exactly 1 centimeter larger than the cube width - then it goes on top of one of the Kallaxes.
Thankfully it's not too many games that don't fit and I have four Kalaxes (ranging from 3x4 to 5x5) to put stuff on top of.
Still, I wish game designers and publishers tried to respect those standard measurements whenever possible.
Now, I am on the can we ban Threads train, I wasn't at first because they hadn't gotten involved in actually joining the rest of us, now they are and they've admitted they want all our information too, I just don't want any part of that.

They've never met a piece of data they didn't want to mine, have they?
This reads like pro hydrogen puff piece, something the fossil fuel industry is hedging their bets on because it requires fossil fuels to convert into useable form. The hydrogen lobby is just an arm of the fossil fuel industry and it’s worth eyeing with suspicion unless major breakthroughs remove the need for fossil fuels in hydrogen fuel cell production. Of course if that does happen the fossil fuel industry will fight it tooth and nail to protect their investments.
Yup, found it - this article is by john rossant CEO of CoMotion, deeply involved in hydrogen and partnered with BP. This is fossil fuel propaganda disguised as solarpunk. These people would destroy anything solarpunk if there was any threat to their power, so they’re looking to co-opt it and install hydrogen and by extension fossil fuels as a part of it
