87-year-old writes to Financial Times. This is a real technological problem also for people with disabilities. Including me. Banking systems (and others) may make people's life miserable. And you know what? In case of an issue, I couldn't even make a phone call (when mandatory).

Looking for a surrogate / fiduciary to vote for me in the european elections this weekend since I won’t be able to make it to the consulate. Must be EU citizen and able to go to the french consulate in SF on Saturday.

The right wing war against drag performers just took a hard turn:

In 2022, right wing blogger Summer Bushnell edited a video of drag performer Eric Posey’s performance, blurring parts of his outfit to support her completely false claim, that he was exposing his genitals to an audience including children.

That lie just cost her USD 1.1 million.

We could rotate the grate so that its bars are perpendicular to a bicyclist's direction of travel, thus solving the problem, or--hear me out--we could post a sign illustrating the problem.

Massive leak at confirms what we have all known for years, just how much is tracked, stored, and monetized.

Even clearer now how Chrome tracks and reports EVERYTHING you do. For heavens' sake delete it now and move to Firefox

Also they've outright lied for years about their data collection and search practices.

Looks like 'Don't be evil' wasn't enough. ;)

A business tax "reform" (cut?) backed by business groups, London Breed, and Aaron Peskin contains a gratuitous poison pill that would kill the @sftransitact (boo!).

But we're soldiering on, as we can still win if the ComMUNIty Transit Act gets more votes. Come to an event, sign it and get involved!

For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.
