In addition to what you shared, the deterioration of neighborhood community creates trust issues. People feel anonymous / unseen, and therefore anti-social leading to anti-social behaviors that further deteriorate the neighborhood/community.
Its a little dorky, but I wave to everyone I see in my neighborhood evey time.
It's not dorky at all. Community building is going to be an important part of surviving climate collapse and the economic issues that will follow. Everybody needs to work together. Waving is a start. Later, when you need to call a neighborhood meeting because the city will no longer be providing x y z services, you'll be a familiar face and people will listen.

When I was young I thought anything was possible (it wasn't), but now the young see only a dark future!
@mythologyandhistory …and Cicero (44 B.C. ish) wrote a long ass letter to his son who was away at school telling him to behave and not to embarrass his mother and father…and the family name. Apparently Cicero was worried.

As a new report finds that half of all #teenagers have either been victims of violence or have witnessed violence against peers, one cannot be surprised that they are modifying their behaviour in response....
this country is turning to sh*t in front of our very eyes & young are being transformed into isolated & fearful young adults by the violence inflicted upon & around them.
We need to take a long hard look at our society & rethink how we interact...
