Premier targets rivals' merger rumours as B.C. election nears (www.cbc.ca)

But they did not deny there was an urgency in finding a way together to prevent vote-splitting that could hand Eby another majority, with Falcon saying, “the real enemy is the NDP government and four more years of that government I think will be, frankly, devastating for the province of British Columbia.”

In case you missed the excitement in our neck of the woods, a pop quiz on safety was failed by a poor student.

"At around 1:15 p.m., Portland Fire & Rescue crews along with the Multnomah County River Patrol and the United States Coast Guard Station Portland responded to the rescue on report of runaway 16-foot boat in the river and a man in the water yelling for help."

@Meinews Utter madness. I do often wonder if we're living in a dystopian satire from the 1980s. If not, we're doing a remarkable impression of one.

Well that's a first. Attacked by a seemingly unhealthy rat on a sidewalk in East Van. Had to kick it away a few times, reported it to the city. Keep your eyes open people!

@voxpopsicle If it managed to injure you, get yourself medical attention immediately. Sounds like rabies.

I tramp around Mount St. Helens just North of in Wa, its sort of untouched and completely changed slopes. I’ve heard how gorgeous it was prior but this OPB report gives glimpses.

area friends, do you love plants?

Along with my two other friends, I'm hosting a West Seattle Pop-Up Plant Sale on the Sunday (5/26) of Memorial Day Weekend! Stop by from 10am-2pm to snag indoor and outdoor plants. Lots of parking, near transit, and around the corner from the West Seattle Farmer's Market.

See you there!

I can't believe how voters keep electing the right-wing candidates, maybe the progressives moved out to Beaverton. Schmidt has gotten nothing but bad faith from the police and the republican city council isn't doing us much good either.

lmao wweek in May 2020 "But the district attorney in the state's largest county is a thought leader and a policy leader." endorsing the candidate that was not endorsed by the police union, vs now "a technician, not a politician. That’s what this office needs"

I participated in a workshop by city of to discuss civic use of AI. I contributed a rubric of "assistive" versus "determinative". The first case may be a helpful use (subject to usual concerns about energy, creative rights, bias, etc etc etc). The second case is where things get dangerous.
