"The singer and songwriter with a silky-smooth voice has written a memoir with Paul Reiser that recounts his story of pain and redemption with dashes of humor."
Every morning I wake up with some random song stuck in my head. There's no greater proof of this than spending all day yesterday listening to post punk and shoegaze artists and then waking up today with Rupert Holmes stuck in my head.
One of my 3 favorite #jazz albums to get my Thursday morning started.
A hauntingly beautiful record.
My 14 yr old has just started to appreciate certain kinds of jazz music, and Cirrus was one of the records that did it for him. Like his father, he isn’t totally wild about the genre, but knows the kind he likes when he hears it.
Watch the documentary below, as it’s really worth the time you’ll spend on the Soul Train phenomenon and the story of this “Godfather” of black music, Donald Cortez “Don” Cornelius (Sept 27 1936 – Feb 1, 2012). I'm surprised at how modern this 70s band sounds. Wouldn't take much to make it fit any current prog metal album today. Also their logo is an #ambigram. #progrock#progmetal#music#70s#70smusic
Jonas Gwangwa (1937 – 2021) was a genius trombone player from Soweto, South Africa. That’s him in the middle between 2 other South African geniuses, the late Hugh Masekela on the left, and Caiphus Semenya (born 1939), on the right, for their band Union of South Africa. The album, released in May 1971, […]
