Stopped by the Boston Public Library this morning and caught the #BostonMarathon finish line getting removed. Hopefully everyone had finished by the time they started working!
The everyday heroes of the #BostonMarathon were out in force across the course this morning.
Glorimar Samalot is here from #PuertoRico to run today’s marathon and complete her 6-star card - a card that shows runners completing marathons across the globe. It’s taken her 9 years and Boston was the last one to check off the list.
Colleen Rosazza is here with the Badass Running Moms crew from Colorado. It's her first marathon and her squad is 100% behind her.
It's marathon season. Due to its structure, Fedi isn't as useful for following live sports events in near-real time as the bird site was, but that may actually give me time to focus on my "real job" in the media center during tomorrow morning's #bostonmarathon2024 .
Yesterday I skimmed over the entry lists and media guide and put together a thumbnail overview of names to watch in the #bostonmarathon . I'll post them as a thread, then update with outcomes tomorrow.
Pre-emptive helicopter alert: #Boston to get its annual pre-Marathon background nuclear radiation check Thursday through Monday. So that's why you'll see (and hear) a blue and white copter flying loud and low over downtown and the Marathon route. #BostonMarathon https://www.energy.gov/nnsa/aerial-measuring-system-ams
The new mid week series starts today - instead of 7k, I’m doing a 10k every Tues and Thurs
I’m trying to find a pace which I can maintain constantly and have been experimenting. So far I have discovered too fast and too slow. Perhaps I can maintain 7min05? If that suits me, then it would lead to a marathon time of 4hrs59 (wishful thinking!)
