#Google is now enforcing #DKIM policy and as of midnight last night is bouncing email from ACM.ORG addresses that did not come through the ACM #SMTP Relay service.
You need to change your email configuration to use the ACM SMTP Relay service immediately.

Now I have #mastodon, #email and #matrix in #emacs. Funny how communications on computers are easier to focus on without all the intense animations, colors and ads. I feel much more relaxed and ready to work when it's all texted based.
Is email encryption for the average person a waste of effort? I currently use tuta (formerly tutanota) and the encryption they provide either requires the recipient to also use tuta, or that I password protect an email and communicate that password to the recipient some other way. Seems like a lot of effort for basic communications.
Also I’m limited to just using their first-party clients due to their encryption being done client-side. I think after some time with them I’d be more happy using an email service that can work with any client and is committed to respecting my privacy. Anybody have thoughts on this or recommendations? #email#encryption#privacy
WOW! Installed Thunderbird just before the weekend started and set my inbox to trust SpamAssassin for junk filtering. Only noticed my desktop has been amazingly quiet after checking mobile notifications. Is K-9 Mail the Android #email app for #mozilla?
I moved to a Thinkpad w541 with coreboot so I needed to set up my email encryption on Thunderbird again.
It took me more time to reconfigure it again - as usual - so I decided to take notes this time and create a blog post about it. As this might be useful for somebody else … or me in the future :-)
I try to create #account on Polish site for publishing stories. Tried my Proton, Tuta and Disroot #email addresses and every time I get #registration error like "Use another email account, we don't trust this".

I have an idea, but don’t know if there is a tool available out there that already does it.
Think of a #newsletter sending system, but instead of sending everyone the latest posts, it takes into account when someone has joined, and sends them all posts in a sequence, spread out by a week of each other (or any other interval). Kind of like chapters in a series - regardless of when you joined, you always get the entire series from the start, one piece at a time.
I don’t think that Ghost or Substack are capable of achieving anything like that. Best I could think of is email campaigning software like Mailchimp, where I’d meticulously set up when each post would be sent (at start, after one week, after 2 weeks, etc). For dynamically evolving content, however, that would be an overkill.

Powszechnie i często korzystamy z e-maila. Adresy z małpą @ od bez mała 40 lat kojarzą się z komputerami i Internetem. Bez adresu poczty elektronicznej trudno zapisać się do lub korzystać z jakiegokolwiek serwisu. Podobnie, nazwy domen internetowych pozwalają zidentyfikować i odnaleźć stronę internetową lub usługę sieciową.
Pomimo burzliwego rozwoju Internetu i dynamicznego wzrostu liczby użytkowników – dla większości z nich angielski nie jest już pierwszym językiem – adresy domen oraz e-mail nadal wymagają głównie pisma łacińskiego ograniczonego do zestawu znaków ASCII – nie zawierają one polskich i innych liter zawierających znaki diakrytyczne.
Rozwój IT, w tym wypracowanie standardu Unicode, a w szczególności system kodowania UTF–8, rozpowszechnił korzystanie ze znaków narodowych. Od dawna piszemy maile z polskimi znakami, zazwyczaj sprawdzają się one także w polu tytułu e-maila. Nie dotyczy to jednak adresów.
Powolny rozwój z tym zakresie umożliwił stopniowo od lat 2000 korzystanie z międzynarodowych nazw domen (IDN) mogących zawierać diakrytyczne znaki pisma łacińskiego a od 2010 także znaki alfabetów niełacińskich.
W 2012 r. IETF zatwierdziło standard RFC 6530 przedstawiający założenia i ramy międzynarodowych adresów poczty elektronicznej (Email Address Internationalisation - EAI).
Nadal jednak nie możemy powszechnie korzystać z tych rozwiązań. Jednym z powodów jest brak świadomości interesariuszy i zbyt wolna aktualizacja oprogramowania usług i systemów.

I'm looking for Outlook/Gmail options for Win10/11. In the past I used #Mozilla thunderbird but I need calendar integration. What else is out there that's good for Exchange/O365 #email
Anyone got any good alternatives to Proton for business email that still avoids data-mining etc? Trying to set up SMTP with Proton has so far involved opening a support ticket and getting asked things like what I sell, when do I launch, how many orders do I expect per hour and per day, and so on. I found that odd for a company supposedly focused on privacy. #protonmail#Email#privacy
Wciąż zastanawiam się, jakie rozwiązanie byłoby najlepsze, by tworzyć unikalne adresy #eMail, przy pomocy mojej domeny.
Długo używałem typowego rozwiązania z "+", w poczcie #GMail, ale to słabo się sprawdza, gdyż:
• Spora liczba stron internetowych odrzuca adresy poczty z "+", i w tej chwili już nie jest to kwestia kopiowania kiepskich "gotowców", lecz celowego blokowania łatwych do pozyskania, unikalnych adresów.
• Jest dosyć "oczywiste", i łatwo z tego wydostać podstawowy adres skrzynki.
Rozważam trzy opcje:
Catch-all, czyli opt-out — zgarniam pocztę z wszystkich możliwych adresów w domenie. Łatwo to ustawić, i mogę na bieżąco wymyślać unikalne adresy. Na minus, będę zgarniał mnóstwo spamu, i będę musiał blokować sporo nazw użytkownika, często używanych przez spamerów.
Catch-all z prefiksem — zgarniam pocztę z adresów, które zaczynają się od określonego prefiksu. Pomysł podobny do "+", ale bez znaków specjalnych i mniej oczywisty. Dzięki temu mógłbym jednocześnie szybko tworzyć nowe adresy, a generyczny spam by mnie omijał. Niestety, nie wydaje mi się, żeby większość dostawców poczty pozwalała na coś podobnego.
Jawnie tworzone aliasy, czyli opt-in — tworzę aliasy, ilekroć ich potrzebuję. Sporo przy tym wysiłku, ale najpewniej to jedyne "czyste" rozwiązanie. I musiałbym zawsze mieć przy sobie garść wolnych aliasów, na wypadek gdybym musiał komuś podać maila.
