Gnome Search on a smartphone is a killer feature. You can do so much useful stuff and customize everything to your liking.

The two best smartphones I own. Not the fastest, most powerful, or most expensive. They are the best and most precious to me because those devices can run PostmarketOS. #gnomemobile#postmarketos#mobilelinux
#gmobile 0.2.0 is out 🚀 . This version adds the udev rules and first hwdb entries to mark keys and buttons as not unblanking the screen on press (like volume rockers or menu/back capacitive buttons).
phoc 0.39.0 will make use of this. We moved things into a library rather than phoc itself so other compositors can make use of it too.
A friend of mine gave me a bunch of old phones he had lying around, and one of them (a Samsung Galaxy A3 from 2015) is supported by postmarketOS! I am now the proud owner of a Linux phone! 🚀🎉🚀
Today i flashed postmarketos using the web flasher, in less than 10 minutes i booted into gnome with the mobile patches, thanks to everyone that made this posible!
PostmarketOS blew up on my secondhand OnePlus 6T (it boots to TTY after an update, yay!), so I'm looking for the best way to test GNOME stuff on it again.
Does anyone have a recommendation for the “best” way from an upstream GNOME perspective—like, do we have GNOME OS images for it? 😅
I threw Droidian on it because someone suggested I check it out and it’s working alright but it defaults to Phosh, and I’m not going to package the mobile GNOME Shell stuff myself.
He look, 🎅 just dropped #phosh 0.34.0 🚀 📱 . The bulk of things happened on the Wayland compositor side but the phone shell and other bits also got some improvements and fixes.
I was finally able to try #GnomeMobile shell and WOW. This is 100% the future. I couldn't stop playing with it ever since I managed to install it. I love #Gnome and I can't wait until Mobile Shell gets a stable release.
