I thought I would try something new and more privacy focused, so ordered a Murena Fairphone. The phone was fine, the e/os was not. It didn't support NFC for contactless payments, even though the phone had the technology to do so. This was not mentioned anywhere in the specs. So I asked about a return, both via the email helpdesks and forums. No reply from either, the customer service is terrible. I definitely won't be looking at them again. #privacy#phones

"#Lithium batteries are vital in electrical devices from #phones to electric cars (#EVs), but contain combustible materials which, combined with the energy they store, can make them vulnerable to catching fire when exposed to heat - a potential danger given the #toxic materials their burning can emit."
During the pandemic, #distracteddriving increased and remains high. The government estimates that 3,522 people died because of it in 2021, but experts say the official number probably undercounts the number of deaths, in part because police are rarely able to prove that a driver was distracted before a crash.
