Somehow our uni printing backend turned my 6MB PDF into 10 GIGABYTES... How? I have no idea. I had my worst printing experience today and got home with only 80% of what I wanted to print out 💀 It works normally but today (after giving up on uploading and using a USB stick) I had my funds run out mid-printing, then after that had the color run out mid-printing and after that it said I have no funds even though I charged my account again! #print#printing#uni#studying#computerscience#tech
I don't get how some people livestream themselves #studying... A few days ago I saw someone studying silently with another person watching them silently over Zoom. Like, if you want your friend to watch over you for concentration, then meet up physically and #study together (which I greatly enjoy, even if silent), but this just sounds a bit forced.
I worked with python to practice graph theory which can be very bland when only studied theoretically xD Does anyone have any ideas what else I could add? Maybe even some potential use cases so that those graphs become a meaning? I'm a bit lost now but it was so fun to do and I wanna continue to do more stuff with it c: https://github.com/Zitronenjoghurt/GraphTheory
Got a little sidetracked during an online workshop the other day; made myself a bow & arrow out of cotton wool tips and rubber bands…kitty was also entertained 😅
Im insanely motivated for the 3rd term of my #computerscience studies. I have some new (and reworked) approaches that could help me learn more effective:
some automatic scheduling of tasks in my google calendar with reclaim AI (instead of a to-do list)
combine Anki with Obsidian to get more structured knowledge and to just learn the important stuff with spaced repetition
Hello #PKM people, what do you do to ensure that your notes will be properly processed and isn't just stuff to occupy your folders? Meaning, how do you ensure that you extract value from them?
A question I am pondering as I have hundreds of notes now, and while I have made sure to turn some of them into articles, am not sure about everything else. Am curious to know how you extract value from your notes.
How Your Phone’s Background Can Help You Study By Combining Active And Passive Learning
Think of something you’ve been studying lately and have to memorize—maybe the periodic table or a sequential list of steps. Find a way to condense it, so the material is the size of your phone screen—then make it your background. (Alternatively, make it the s ...continues
Does anyone feel like sitting down in front of the computer and playing around with their notes a bit?
I just wrote down how I set up and try to maintain my (academic) reading list in #Obsidian using the #Projects plugin by @marcusolsson and #Zotero. Might post it again after the holidays, but for now, here's the description of my approach for those who asked. Thus, fulfilling my promise from this thread: https://hcommons.social/@natalie/109557676423033978
I've finally managed to format my references from #Zotero so that they show up in Projects without any problems. Now I can finally create a reading list and easily track and change the status of books from within the Projects view.
Wonderful. Can't wait to continue reading for my dissertation next year and finally track what I want to read or have read each week. But for now, it is a reading break here!
