Auto complete coming to Workbench 🛠️

Besides writing GTK faster than light, I want to use it to help newcomers discover and learn about widgets and properties.

Thanks @andyholmes for the help!

A screencast of Workbench. It shows a list of auto complete options as I type GTK/Blueprint.

There's finally a mobile data quick setting in Phosh (will be part of 0.40.0). Not everybody needs it so you can enable/disable it via Mobile Settings:

Nirav's #1 is making these laptops the best for - New meteor lake, and the new display looks great, 120hz with VRR.

They purposely picked 2880x1920 so that Linux users can avoid fractional scaling entirely.

Can retrofit it onto existing 13's too! I'm totally getting the display because of the rounded corners. Ximian lives!

lw64,

@jorge Though doesn't fractional scaling work pretty well these days? At least on with I think it's not an issue anymore...

My fellow fedizens, i have done it.
I have applied #BitRitter to https://nlnet.nl/propose/ in the category "Open Call". Well at least 2 features i want to implement.
Wish me luck.

If you have an awesome Mobile FOSS Project, maybe you want to apply too? Deadline is 2024-06-01 so this friday. Application process took me about half an hour, so that's doable.

Did you know there's a cool little + forecasting native desktop application for , called ?

Seems like it was started a year ago. I just discovered it now, and am somewhat impressed by how much detail it provides (including Air Pollution / Air Quality Index).

So of course I filed my ponies-on-rainbows enhancement request to suggest an interactive stacked graphs representation (like a certain website I use, shown below)… 🤞👀

Are there any useful learning resources out there that are essentially "build systems for dummies"?

I haven't built any complex projects from source manually so far (spoiled by meson + GNOME Builder's Flatpak integration), but I'm finding myself wanting a better understanding of what's actually happening under the hood to turn the stuff in my project folder into something runnable. I don't know much about tweaking meson.build files, for instance.

Got very excited by @matt demo of AccessKit integration in

AccessKit is a cross-platform abstraction for accessibility infrastructure written in Rust.

His work will bring a11y support for GTK on macOS and Windows as well as for the new accessibility architecture on Linux code-named "Newton".

Wrote a little app launcher for all of my manually installed applications using Tauri in about 2 hours and with less than 100 lines of code. The .deb package it generated is just 2.8 MB in size. I added this to my startup applications using Gnome Tweak Tool.

P.S. One hour was spent fighting the borrow checker. AppImage is 164 MB.
